Don't Let Me Die in Vain Sutton & Manny
suttonridertheauramaster:
Sutton could already tell by their auras that they weren’t metas. So she knew that she would have no trouble taking them down. Maybe that’s why they were staying back they wanted to wait for a meta agent. To arrive so the chances of catching her would be better. To bad she wasn’t going to let that happen, but just as Sutton was ready to charge. She heard a familiar voice inside her head it was Manny, and he sounded half scared half angry.
She heard rumors around the base that a former rebel captured by CARMA had regained. They’re memories but she didn’t get her hopes up to high that it was him. Now she knew it was Manny and a feeling of joy almost overwhelmed her. Until she remembered where she was. “I know it is Manny but someone has to do it, or the Rebels will never gain the upper hand. In this war and you know it” Sutton answered back telepathically.
Two of the agents finally came for her making Sutton forgot about Manny momentarily. She blocked one of their swords with both her daggers. While throwing her up a aura shield at the same time. Not only blocking the plasma blast one of the agents shot at her with his gun. But also trapping the other agent in there with her. She parred his blade away again delivered a hard right hook to his jaw. Causing the agent to fly back into the shield he tried to get back up. But another shot this time to the head knocked him out cold. Sutton dropped her shield and sent a flurry of energy balls at the other agent. Who wasn’t able to dodge them all and hitted the ground unconscious.
Unfortunately though using her aura to maintain her enhanced physical form was beginning to. Take its toll so she dropped it and prepared herself to take on the other agent. Without her powers to let them rest Sutton grabbed the plasma gun. That belonged to the fallen agent and turned to face the her next opponent. “I’m doing the right thing Manny”.
“What you’re doing is a suicide mission,” Manny corrected her, his mental voice sounding stressed and anxious. He stood back, a safe distance away as he witnessed the fight between Sutton and the agents. His right foot hesitantly stepped forward, wanting to help her, but at the same time, he couldn’t find it in himself to actually move. C.A.R.M.A didn’t know he was back on the Rebel side, and if he tried to help a Rebel escape from C.A.R.M.A here, his cover would be blown, and he’d most likely be brainwashed all over again…or killed. He so wanted to help Sutton, but the smart thing to do here was to stay back and pray she was strong enough to take out anyone in her way. Manny had no doubt that the other Rebel could handle herself just fine.
The psionic watched as she easily and swiftly took out the agents, feeling a swell of pride in his chest as he did. But just as quickly as Sutton took out the first wave of agents, back up came along, armed with all sorts of various weapons. Manny stayed back where he was, just observing and staying out of the way.
“Take ‘em out,” he told Sutton, sounding a little more confident than worried now. “Then get the hell out of here with whatever you have for the Rebels.”
A blast from the plasma gun quickly took care of the last agent. But another wave arrived blocking her from the exit. "You think I don't know that" she replied frustrating. Sutton knew her chances of making it out of this situation alive were really slim. But no war was won without a scarfice, and she was willing to be the one to make it. If no one else had the guts to do it which is why. She was kind of happy to that Manny was here in her original back-up plan. Sutton was going to try to get to Jason before she was captured or killed. But now she had another alternative but hopefully she didn't have to turn to plan B.
Sutton summoned her aura again and sent a massive energy wave at the agents. Some of them tried to dodge but they failed she rushed the ones. Who wasn't knocked out by the attack and took them down. Sutton was just starting to feel real good about her plan. When she sensed another aura behind her and heard a gunshot sound off. At the same time she tried to dodge as fast as she could. But it was futile a second later she felt a painful burning sensation in her stomach. She gathered up what little power she had left and threw a small energy ball.
The agent easily dodged it and aimed his gun at her again ready to take the kill shot. This time she managed to throw up a aura shield just in time. As two more bullets struck it unfortunately they managed to break her last line of defense. "Damn it" she muttered leaning up against the wall as the pain got worse.
