quintessa swindell & they/he / nonbinary ‷ watch out , 𝙴𝙻𝙻𝙸𝚂 𝙱𝙴𝙲𝙺𝙴𝚃𝚃 has crash-landed into roswell !! they look twenty-three and celebrate their birthday on july 22nd. they are from brooklyn, ny, reside in tripps trailer park and are currently working as a bartender at planet 7. one thing you should know about them is that while they claim to be allergic to relationships, there’s a certain someone he just can’t seem to get over. ‷ ( tay, she/her, 21, est )
𝚃𝚁𝙸𝙶𝙶𝙴𝚁 𝚆𝙰𝚁𝙽𝙸𝙽𝙶: drug use, alcohol use
when one thinks of a good person, ellis beckett doesn’t exactly put himself in that category. in their early years he was every child’s dream, fitting into every mold that their parents placed before them. the becketts were a very respectable family: ellis was the child of two of the best defensive attorneys in brooklyn. hell, probably even new york city. because of their high-profile occupations, the family had a reputation to uphold. they say it was here where ellis’ biting tongue was born: always ready for a fight. it didn’t seem like their parents truly wanted to get to know their child: ellis was simply a prop to make them look good.
by high school, ellis wanted nothing to do with it and did everything that he possibly could to taint it, no fucks left to give as they say. the teen spent many nights running around the city with the friends they had made, time usually spent drinking and getting high. anything to forget the life that their parents seemed to have scripted for them, lines for him to read and all. just like them, ellis’ friends all seemed to be running from something, a band of misfits. that was why the moment ellis turned eighteen, they swore to find a way out of the city where so many dreams had come true. there was no dream for them here.
it was during the back half of high school that ellis also began to realize what felt right for them, who he was. they left brooklyn behind exactly a year after they made their vow, now out as nonbinary and pansexual, in search of a place to finally call home.
brooklyn certainly wasn’t. ellis wouldn’t be surprised if their parents now deny that he even exists.
roswell was a happy accident for ellis. after spending a couple months traveling across the country with their hometown best friend ( wanted connection ) and spending his nights on various couches, they just.. dropped in. simple as that. planet 7 was happy to give them a job and now, he has managed to make himself known to the roswell folk as a jokester, a sweetheart and in stereotypical bartender fashion: an excellent ear when you need it most. as much as everyone else around them sings ellis’ praises, part of them is fighting their own demons and they tend to cloud his view of himself.
about a year into their stay in roswell, ellis met a very special individual. there’s always someone ( wanted connection ) from first glance, he knew he was fucked. for years they had considered themselves to be bound to being alone, not exactly the type to settle down. perhaps that was why ellis abruptly broke things off six months later, even though his heart is still very much in it. ever since they were a child, they had a panchance for self-distruction and the woman that can’t seem to leave their mind is living proof of that.
besides the bar and the lover, ellis appears to have built a rather quaint little life for himself. although there are times where they live paycheck to paycheck, he’s quite satisfied with his home in the trailer park and wouldn’t have it any other way. all they really need is the bar, some weed and their childhood best friend, who has since become his roommate.
