i just don’t understand why people don’t extend the same amount of grace to santos that they do to robby.
i’ve seen people say they think santos is being immature and unprofessional for not letting langdon talk to her, but people forget that her only impression of him was catching onto him doing something that put patients at risk, only to be berated and humiliated by him in front of her colleagues. and when he comes back, whether intentionally or unintentionally, he treats her like a learning doctor, which can feel demeaning to the 10 months she spent learning at the ptmc.
yet nobody holds that much disdain for robby when he also actively shuts langdon out, which in my opinion can be seen as immature as well, because if he really was going to shut him like that, why not transfer him out of the ptmc or why even let him have his job back at all?
and yes santos can be mean and abrasive around her colleagues and that can be a reason to not like her but i don’t think she’s ever taken it as far as robby did when he belittled mohan for her panic attack.
not only did he invalidate and diminish her feelings in front of her peers and colleagues, he also gives an invitation to langdon, the only other man in the room, to join in on the mocking. yet instead of receiving backlash, people run to make sure we all understand where he’s coming from, that his lash outs are stemming from his depression.
but 3 episodes prior to his lash out, we see santos’ sh scars. the audience knows that santos is dealing with her own traumas yet nobody takes that into consideration when thinking that her abrasive nature might be a coping mechanism she’s developed because of her own traumas she’s experienced…
