"Interesting... A Switch-Axe user.. What model is that weapon, friend? Can't say I've seen that axe before, honestly. Most of these new weapons are odd. Except for my Desert Rose."
“What, this old thing?”
She’d watched the hunter approach, wrapped head-to-toe in pink. Good first impression so far, she liked pink. Anantha pulled the big, clunky weapon off her back, letting it unfold with a heavy ka-chunk as it settled into its axe shape. She gave him a friendly smile as she set it down in front of him.
“S’called Azure Straybloom. Comes from the same beastie you’ve covered yourself in, my friend.” She paused, pursing her lips. “Well, her and her mate, anyway.”
The other hunter chuckled as he sat beside his new acquaintance, drawing and placing his Charge Blade in front of them, “Aye, it is. A brutal thing, this. I once sawed the head off of a flying Rathalos. The landing was less than fun, as you can imagine.”
Anantha tried to picture the scene in her head, of this particularly articulate hunter careening through the air and decapitating an escaping Rathalos mid-flight. It was equal parts entertaining and impressive. She whistled. “I can imagine.” She tilted her head with a smirk.
“But I bet it was plenty fun on the way up, eh?”
“It was beautiful to see the world from the skies, yes… Also terrifying, to be up so high, but still beautiful.” Dolsos laughed at the memory of his fall from the monster’s descending corpse before he picked up his weapon and returned it to his back.
“What is your name, my lovely friend?” He asked, removing his help so that he could stroke his magnificent beard as they continued to talk.
She did the same with her own weapon, folding it back into a more manageable and less unwieldy shape. She offered him a friendly smile.
“Anantha.” Her hand stretched towards him, offered to shake. “And yourself, friend?”
It was hard to say whether or not she was referring to the oversized, beetle-like beast meandering about on a cliffside, or Anantha, who was currently tracking the thing. Either or would have been a perfectly reasonable guess: they both looked plenty strange.
Speaking of the huntress, it seemed she wasn’t aware that she was being observed, all of her attention currently focused on how best to deal with one very big bug.
Carefully did the witch from afar right down notes about both the beetle-like creature and Anantha. How fascinating this all was! No doubt a possible native of this place. Should she engage and help the other? Or simply observe for the moment?
She’d let the scene play out and decide what to do afterwards.
As Anantha crept closer, the creature turned and hovered about, flying low to the ground. As if pacing. As if waiting.
The monster in question was a vibrant shade of green, with the occasional splash of orange decorating its extremities. Its most noticeable feature, however, was the large horn protruding from the top, an apparent extension of the hard shell on its back.
However, no sooner could you stop to appreciate the look of this creature, when it suddeny turned, bright amber eyes focusing directly on the hunter following it. It lifted its forelegs, emitting one very angry-sounding hiss. Anantha grimaced and rolled out of her ineffective hiding spot into the open, pulling off the large piece of hardware from her back and letting it unfold into an oversized axe. The hunt was on.
"Waa~ That armor looks impressive! If you don't mind me asking, what is your hunter rank?" Ayame asks with stars in her eyes.
The huntress chuckled, more than a bit flattered to receive such a look of admiration. She made a little display of it, popping one hand on her hip and flexing the other arm. Good grief what a dork.
“G-crown, baby!” Anantha grinned, then dropped the other arm to its respective hip, beaming at the other huntress. “How about you, cutie pie?”
Ayame smiled, amused by the huntress’ over-dramatic display. The lady reminded her of a friend she had had back home in Yukumo.
“I’m HR4. Only just gotten to high rank before moving out here. Loc Lac didn’t have enough of an adventurous feel for my tastes. I do like it here though.”
“Yeah? I can’t say I’ve been out that way, myself.” She let her arms relax. “Hopefully Dundorma can provide a little more excitement for you, eh?” She chuckled, then lifted her hand to her temple in a sort of wave.
“If you need anything, you just let your new pal Anantha know, okay?”

“What is this strange creature?” Pointed ears perked up with interest as she observed from afar. This world was full of monsters! Perhaps she could control some of them for her goals? Maybe. Only time would tell.

"Hey, there you are, Zam!"
Ears twitch lightly. She knew that voice!
The Wyverian stands up and promptly lops over to the smaller human, picking her up in a spine-numbing hug.
“An’tha~!”
She chatters excitedly, obviously pleased to see one of her favorite hunting buddies. Where had she been? How had her hunts been? Hopefully she hadn’t gotten into too much trouble!
A sharp grunt, and she mimics the motion, chattering back just as dramatically.
Well excuuuuse me, princess, how’s a blind woman supposed to keep up with you?
There’s a hearty laugh, and she rights herself, doing her best to explain where she’d been through mumbles and gestures. Every time she’d returned to town, either Anantha had been out or at a different location. Just an unfortunate lack of crossed paths, is all.
Anantha laughed with her, letting her arms fall back to their sides. “All right, I suppose that’s fair.” She scratched the back of her neck. The motion tilted her helm slightly off-center, though she didn’t seem to notice. “Seems like we’ve both been busy, huh? Not that I mind.” The huntress reclined back on her hands. “Pays for our meals, don’t it?”

“Ah… Then I believe it a good weapon. No prey is more worthy than a Rathalos or a Rathian. Well, other than Elder Dragons. Haven’t found anyone crazy enough to come hunt one with me.” The old hunter chuckled lightly, sratching his beard as he eyed the woman’s armour, “And what’s this made from? Seems Kecha Wacha.”
The huntress chuckled. “Not quite, but a good guess.” Her legs stretched out from where she was perched, only to drop again, dangling over her seat. She reclined back, and offered the hunter to take a load off as well.
“Comes from a right nasty creature called the Gobul, though I’m sorry to say I didn’t get to hunt the thing myself. These parts are traded.” She frowned, lamenting that she didn’t get to see one in person.
However, her arms stretched over her head, and she grinned. “But enough about me.” Anantha reached out and tapped the shield of his charge blade. “’Desert Rose’, eh? Pretty name for a menacing piece of hardware.”

She pops her hands on her hips, puffing her chest out rather proudly as she chatters about her hunts. She seems rather excited by story time.
… Thiiiis might take a bit.
Goodness, it felt like storytime had gone on for a couple of days or something. Or the powers that be were just lazy, either or. But Anantha was enjoying it all the same, having settled herself onto a stumpy bit of rock, drawing up one leg and resting her chin on it. She kept quiet for the most part, with the rare instance of pausing the chatter to ask questions, or make clarifications. At length, and when it seemed like storytime was beginning to slow down, she finally piped up.
“This is hurtin’ my feelings, Zam.” she grinned. “All these cool little adventures and you didn’t invite me along?” Her hand laid over her chest and she threw her head back, giving her most dramatic, offended huff.
"Hey, there you are, Zam!"

There’s a hearty laugh, and the large Wyverian carefully sets the smaller on her feet. She’s gotten rather excited, seeing her friend again. A bit too much so, maybe.
Ah, solid ground! She smoothed out her clothes, then straightened herself out. When she looked up again, Anantha found herself glancing over the much larger hunter, making sure she hadn’t picked up any new scars that would need explaining. Once she was satisfied, she put her hands on her hips and smiled.
“So, what’s new with you?”

Anantha was someone Zam had often stood beside, even she’s not surprised that the smaller can understand her babbling.
And oh, does she babble. About hunts and adventures and getting lost and making new friends–
A gasp for air.
She’d been so excited that she’d almost run out of air. Poor thing.
“Easy now,” she managed to wriggle an arm free, waving her hand. “There’ll be plenty of time to tell me everything you want to tell me.” The huntress looked down, noticing her feet were still free from the floor.
“But first, can you put me down?”

The smaller woman laughed as she was swept up into the hug, even as she felt her arms being squished against her sides.
"It's good to see you too!" Anantha beamed, apparently content to let her feet dangle in the air. She listened to Zam’s chatter with interest and the occasional nod. Seems from the sporadic pepper of Common, she was able to understand her. “I’m fine, I’m fine. Same ol’, same ol’, really. But what about you? Where did you wander off to, Zam?”
