You washed over me like a wave And I was too weak to fight the current I was stilled by the look that you gave For the fire in your eyes burned oh so fervent

I had my sights set on a quiet road But when our paths crossed that dream was shattered I was captivated by the courage you showed And in a world that forgot, you told me I mattered

Now I am bound to you with an invisible bond Yet one that is stronger than rope or chain Compelled to follow you into the beyond You are the crimson with which I am stained

The snow falls down and soaks in spirals on my skin My fingertips are frozen by a whistling wind My cheeks are blossoming like roses red 'midst pale snow This winter day whispers a secret only I seem know

Enchanting as the morning star In stillness, brightness speaks of where you are The calm is cool and many hide away for warmth But I just smile and lose myself in falling white

The gloves you knit for me are a quiet shade of periwinkle They're woven hands that make me feel like yours are still holding mine I'm lost in memories of December days and diamond skies When I would lose myself in your eyes

Everyone else seems to long for Summer's June But December's when I feel most close to you

Conformed

I put on my clothes Adorn my face with a smile Concealing my woes Because they aren't the style

A vision of loveliness Just means a beautiful illusion I must cover up the ugliness I only show in seclusion

I wipe away my tears I twist my ribbons into bows I lock away my fears And keep the secret no one knows

Carrying myself with pride A foolish lie with hollow meaning With careful steps, a measured stride And all the while within I'm screaming

A pleasant guise with perfect posture With sparkling eyes and blushing cheeks The me I am is an impostor I hear my voice but dare not speak

I'm a dragon In my cavern All these trinkets that I'm hoarding You would think it'd be rewarding

But despite my shiny treasure trove Something in my heart feels cold I'm at the top of a golden mountain Only to find my eyes are a flowing fountain

I thought this was what I was supposed to do I thought that this would be a dream come true But I've come to find that for all my riches I ended up all alone, having burned my bridges

Was it really worth the cost? In trying to gain, what have I lost? My mighty form makes mortals shake I start to roar and the earth quakes

But still… could it be that I was wrong? Were the riches with me all along? And I pushed them aside for worthless bobbles? In building up my kingdom, did it topple?

I'm a dragon in my cavern And it's awful

And just when I start to get near you You pull away with a song in your head You say it's alright that I can't hear it with you But I wish you heard nothing instead

There's a melody, so you listen And your feet move to rhythms unseen It's a siren's song that composition When you hear it I just wanna scream

Sometimes life's a path and it's winding But mine's straight while yours twists in a dance There are moments when with the right timing I almost think that this love stands a chance

But you hear music All I see is distance You feel the beat As I notice you fade

Away from my grasp And I'm starting to wonder How long we can last Before it pulls you under

The hum of the strings resonates Ours are cut You say that it's fate But I think that's enough

I need you beside me Not off in some trance But it isn't likely You'll give that a chance

When the last chord is struck And the symphony's over We'll both be stuck Far apart without closure

That harmony Oh so sweet in its sound Just pulled you away 'Til we weren't around

That cadence That tempo Think it's time To let go

You of it Or perhaps me of you There's a gravity dragging you under So I'll float off into space without you

And as you stare back you'll say you stayed true To our song with that music in you

Foolish poet, your words betray The things you should hold in your heart Letters bold and on display Had exposed you from the start

Only you were unaware That it was plain for all to see Every verse revealing care That you'd hidden underneath

Snared by thoughts put to pen You alone have played yourself Your secrets now and even then Were laying bare upon a shelf

ZOOTOPIA 2 (2025): Did anyone else notice this small detail?

When Nick first walks into his apartment, he frowns at the lonely state of it...

...But when he looks over at the small corner he dedicated to Judy, he smiles fondly, as if just the thought of her is enough to lighten his mood. It's the only part of his apartment that's warmly lit, as opposed to the cool-toned colors in the surrounding space ♥
