"Scam" you mean people are fighting back against housing discrimination??? I don't think these people know what the word scam means
Scams are designed to trick someone into giving up money based on lies. This is just.. asking for information then legally enforcing the law??
Fuck landlords
In sickness and in health, you are my best friend, and I love you.

There's a book that we had in our house growing up that I was obsessed with as a kid. It was just called "PAKISTAN: PAINTINGS BY LIN YONG AND SU HUA" and it was an art book of 100+ paintings/sketches by two Chinese artists who travelled thru Pakistan in 1978 and 1981, a sort of travelogue of their trip, and to little-kid me, it was some of the most beautiful things I'd ever seen. I have no idea why we had that book, but I would stare at it for hours, and it made me wish I could draw/paint/do whatever it was that these artists had managed to do.
Anyway, we've moved house a bunch of times and I lost track of the book and haven't seen it for probably two decades now. But I think about it now and again, and had struggled to find it over the years, but I finally, finally got my hands on a copy of my own and i want to cry haha
I was afraid that maybe the art isn't as good as I remembered, being just a kid and all, but I cracked it open and nope, it hits me just the way it used to. Maybe even more now. It's so fucking pretty. Have some random pages:
Sure! Have some more portraits from the book

people NEED to stop gatekeeping making music like ohhhh i don’t have an instrument ohhhhh i don’t know music theory ohhhhh i’m not gonna pay for some program. SHUT UP. take my hand.
you need NONE of that shit!!!!! there’s a website called beepbox.co. literally all you have to do is press things until it sounds a modicum of nice. it’s easy it’s free and it works on anything which has a browser because it’s a website.
if even ONE person starts making music bc of this post it will be worth it.
making bad music is just as important and okay as it is to write badly or draw badly or sing badly. you AREN’T BEHOLDEN TO MAKE GOOD MUSIC. making music is not utilitarian HAVE FUN. HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!
love how people will encourage people to just start making shit and see what happens when it comes to drawing and writing but when it comes to beginner musicians (music makers if you wish to be less formal) it’s just COMPLETE RADIO SILENCE. it feels like no one even knows you MAKE music it just sprouts up from the ground one day and some guy picks it up. am i alone in this dark cave
Sharing my personal favorite music making website: https://onlinesequencer.net/
OnlineSequencer.net is an online music sequencer. Make tunes in your browser and share them with friends!
It doesn’t work the best on mobile but I’ve made some cool stuff with it>>>
just had this conversation with a friend so here’s a psa for tumblr as well: you NEED a credit card. you cannot be walking around making all your purchases with your debit card
Wait what? Why?
your debit card is meant to be your personal access to your personal funds. use it when you need to withdraw cash from your account—that’s it. if any person, corporation, or entity gains access to your pin, they can take all your cash, and there’s no way to track it or get it back.
credit cards are insured, for one thing. all purchases made with a credit card can be disputed. if your credit card information gets leaked, the bank will cancel your card and deal with that from their end, and your money will be safe and untouched. you can cancel a debit card, but lost cash can’t be returned.
credit scores are also very important!! you need good (or at least decent) credit in order for banks to accept loan applications for large purchases. house, car, etc.. the further back your credit history goes the better. + many credit cards will offer rewards like cash back, travel points, free subscriptions.
tl;dr: if you wouldn’t post your debit card and pin on the internet, you absolutely should not be using it at checkout in person or online. you’re gambling with your life savings.
I can not even BEGIN to emphasize how important it is to get a credit card for your credit score. Use it like a debit card, if credit scares you. Pay off every purchase the instant you make it, if you don't like the idea of it. But you NEED to have it if you ever want to do anything that involves a credit check as part of the approval process.
I'm lucky enough to essentially be a credit card nepo baby. My mom has great credit, fixed my dad's credit to also be great, and then put my name on the family credit card at like age 12 so I could start building credit using theirs. She convinced me to get a credit card and use it the moment I got my first job. When I needed to buy a new car in my 20s, I got an absolutely sweet deal, partly because my credit score was freakishly high for my age.
My friend's mom has great credit but never taught her about it. Never talked to her about credit, building it, never pushed her to get a credit card. She only ever used a debit card or cash all the way into her 30s. When she needed a new car, she was SOL. When sellers would try to do a credit check on her, as far as they were concerned, she didn't exist.
If you don't exist, at least in Credit World, it's not just car loans that you can't access. It can be applying to rent. It can be savings accounts. Right or not, some jobs may even try to do a credit check on applicants, depending on your location.
