hello i decided to take up writing again (●´ω｀●) my old blog will be missed, i will try to post often and i might even repost some old stories from my old blog. anyways i love this concept so i hope you like this! <3 tell me if you’ll be interested in more parts because i have so many ideas for this story!!

lavender; a medicinal plant that can ease the dreary feeling of anxiety and stress. the sun spills through the cracks between the trees branches, as your sights scan the forest floors in search for the purple flower. your tattered journal in hand, pages filled with the little bits of knowledge you’ve gathered in hopes to piece together the ideas you’ve longed to understand. from your own notes and makeshift drawings of nature, to ripped out pages of old books from the castle’s library stuffed into the fragile pages of the book held tightly to your chest as you frolic along the grassy path.
your fascination with herbs, medicine, and the human body started when you were smaller, when your family visited a neighboring kingdom that had a herbalist of their own. as your parents conversed with their royal friends and let out hearty laughs as they shared stories, you caught yourself, at age 7, staring at your shoes and fiddling with your fingers. the herbalist sends you a smile from her place beside the kitchen staff. she walks towards you, kneeling to your height and offering a hand. “you seem bored princess, do wanna come see something?” you blinked your eyes at the woman, she had bouncy, jet black hair and black narrow eyes, offering a soft smile. your gaze shifted upwards to your father, who smiled at the woman, then at you. you then let your hand hesitantly fall into the hand of the woman’s. her smile grew, and she stood to guide you into the the castle’s halls. it was a long walk through the huge foreign castle, until you were led into the gardens. you found yourself in the castle’s greenhouse which consisted of glass walls and roof, you saw flower pots and vines lining the interior, framing the stars above you through the glass. the moonlight poured into the greenhouse, illuminating the beautiful colors on each bloom in the space. that night with the herbalist consisted of her showing you the different flowers and plants, explaining their medicinal purposes, how she grows them for the castle’s nurse, how they can be used in food, and all their other many uses.
you bit your lip as you made your way through the forest, sticks and leaves crackling under your feet. you knew you had to hurry up and collect the herbs you wanted to find, because the guards would turn up shortly, surely upset that you didn’t ask for a escort through the forest. the palace was very overprotective of you, the crown princess, and it became suffocating. going out into the forest to collect the herbs and plants you were studying was a sort of escape for you. a breath of fresh air.
you halted your treading when you heard rustling in the trees above. you looked up, expecting to find a squirrel, but the rustling began to move through the trees. it bounced between branches, moving too fast to be able to see what it was. you stood still, your eyes following the movement above you, until the culprit of the rustling fell in the distance. you eyed the spot, stunned. you could see the dark silhouette bundled up in the distance where the it had fallen. you wondered what it could be, the seemed too big to be a squirrel or a bird.
you stepped slowly towards the unknown creature. as you came closer you noticed how the sunlight reflected off of its skin, realizing the gleam came from the pitch black scales cascading down it’s body. you noticed its tail swishing, and realized it was still alive. it raised it’s head a bit, and you saw the pool of blood forming around the animal. the sight made you panic, and you watched as two tattered wings lifted from the spine of the animal.
dragons were common here, only they never got this close to the palace, since the guards always shot down any that got too close. dragons have attacked humans for ages, thus where the feud between the species started. dragons were blood thirsty, and a threat to human kind.
you looked at its face, a sleek snout and narrow green eyes. it’s the dragon lifted its wings. it let out a desperate whimper. you watched blood trickle from tatters lining it’s wings. they were broken.
red hot fear flooded your body and your senses as you gazed at it, body paralyzed, and throat filling with the shrill scream that begged to rip through your body.
the dragon’s eyes opened slowly, pupils observing its surrounding for a moment, before they landed on you. panicked. the dragon uncoiled itself from its bundled up position, and lifted it’s weak body hurriedly, revealing it’s appearance to you. the dragon wasn’t big, it’s size was similar to that of a small wolf. it’s scales were a shiny black, a stark contrast to it’s bright green eyes. blood trickled from it’s wings, as it scurried into a nearby bush.
the harsh movements and panicked state of the dragon scared you even more, a part of your mind screaming at you to get out of there before it managed to attack. the other part of you, however, noticed the limp in it’s walk as blood cascaded down its wings. you stared at the bush, and made the decision that changed your life forever.
