post: men do this awful thing
the strongest minds on tumblr dot com: don't forget that WOMEN are EQUALLY BAD and that there is NO DIFFERENCE between the way that men and women are treated in society, so just DON'T FORGET that WOMEN ARE BAD. women are bad. women are bad. women are bad.
i have a post where i mentioned "don't marry a man who won't do dishes" and someone added "dont marry ANYONE who won't do dishes!!!!" and like. hey. do you think there is a historical cultural context for why, specifically, men who refuse to do housework and expect a wife to also act as a live-in maid for him are more of a problem than the reverse.
on tumblr, it's more important to remind everybody that women who refuse to do housework are immoral
Excluding the crucial fact that office jobs pay you an income….if staying home to raise children and do chores and bake bread was really so much easier and more joyful than working in an office on some objective level, why aren’t men doing it? Why aren’t they chomping at the bit to be ~leisurely house husbands~ to a working wife? Why aren’t they stepping up to depend solely on someone else’s income in exchange for round-the-clock domestic labor, if it’s really as blissful and their propaganda suggests? Curious.
Thank you! This is such an important reminder.
I think we as a society need to thank Hbomberguy profusely for exposing James Somerton before he could comment on Heated Rivalry
I like when delivery people ask you to sign their tiny shitty screen with your finger like alright sure we can do some free drawing I guess. Some random strokes that evoke the essence of a signature. Looking me dead in the eyes while I play fruit ninja on this blank screen. Why not.
*sends out email I've been putting off* ah finally :). ah that's a weight off my shoulders :). ah I can relax an-- *receives response to email* what the fuck. what the fuck. what the fuckkkk
never really went back to think about the "to be alone" part of this after carol's isolation but it does kind of make that whole thing feel more sinister doesn't it. a reminder to her of how painful loneliness can be. how much better it is to have connection, like them. they knew how much it would hurt her, they're admitting it right here, and they did it anyway
"What carol and koumba diabate did is basically the same" TERRIBLE take
Acquiescing when the person hand picked to be perfect for you makes the first move after 40 days isolation from every damn human on earth is not the same as being barely 2 days into an apocalyptic event and already having a fucking harem set up around you
i think he completed the holy trinity
my grandma was watching the spanish language morning shows this morning and they were interviewing Carlos Manuel Vesga about Pluribus. he said something that i don't think was explicitly clear in the show but informed how he played Manousos, which is that Manousos was originally Colombian and he was forced to migrate to Paraguay. so he had already lost his whole world once before, and when the virus changed the entire world overnight, he wasn't just putting his foot down on principle. he was saying Not Again.
honestly if severance had happened to carol she would have burned that building down day one and fucked gemma in the car
the ironical thing about kusimayu's joining is that she joined because she longed for the community that her culture once gave her. she wanted to join her aunts and cousins and experience that cultural community joy again, not realising that she was the only reason it was still alive. yes, the hivemind stopping the singing was abrupt but that's the point, as soon as she—the last living member of her culture—joined they no longer had to pretend to care it. they want the bodies, not the soul.
