i need to make this happen
gorgeous

i wish they would post the name of the shades when they post these damn things !
āI thought if I could tell her something, I would tell her this: Thereās only two mistakes that I have made. Itās running from the people who could love me best, and trying to fix a world that I canāt change.ā
my favorite song off this album <3
i heard the story about this along with the rest of the world and it's so sad and heartbreaking. i cant imagine the kind of mental pain she went through...but suicide isnt the answer. its not fair to those left behind who truly did care about you. you dont know what the future holds. yes, we live in a shitty judgmental world, but look how far the LGBT community has come compared to the past.... 20 years ago, you wouldnt have documentaries or tv shows based around LGBT, and now we have laverne cox who is a beautiful, talented, strong, intelligent actress. you never truly know..Ā i hope she finds what she was seeking rip leelah
Leelah's Suicide Note
If you are reading this, it means that I have committed suicide and obviously failed to delete this post from my queue.
Please donāt be sad, itās for the better. The life I wouldāve lived isnāt worth living in⦠because Iām transgender. I could go into detail explaining why I feel that way, but this note is probably going to be lengthy enough as it is. To put it simply, I feel like a girl trapped in a boyās body, and Iāve felt that way ever since I was 4. I never knew there was a word for that feeling, nor was it possible for a boy to become a girl, so I never told anyone and I just continued to do traditionally āboyishā things to try to fit in.
When I was 14, I learned what transgender meant and cried of happiness. After 10 years of confusion I finally understood who I was. I immediately told my mom, and she reacted extremely negatively, telling me that it was a phase, that I would never truly be a girl, that God doesnāt make mistakes, that I am wrong. If you are reading this, parents,Ā pleaseĀ donāt tell this to your kids. Even if you are Christian or are against transgender people donāt ever say that to someone, especially your kid. That wonāt do anything but make them hate them self. Thatās exactly what it did to me.
My mom started taking me to a therapist, but would only take me to christian therapists, (who were all very biased) so I never actually got the therapy I needed to cure me of my depression. I only got more christians telling me that I was selfish and wrong and that I should look to God for help.
When I was 16 I realized that my parents would never come around, and that I would have to wait until I was 18 to start any sort of transitioning treatment, which absolutely broke my heart. The longer you wait, the harder it is to transition. I felt hopeless, that I was just going to look like a man in drag for the rest of my life. On my 16th birthday, when I didnāt receive consent from my parents to start transitioning, I cried myself to sleep.
I formed a sort of a āfuck youā attitude towards my parents and came out as gay at school, thinking that maybe if I eased into coming out as trans it would be less of a shock. Although the reaction from my friends was positive, my parents were pissed. They felt like I was attacking their image, and that I was an embarrassment to them. They wanted me to be their perfect little straight christian boy, and thatās obviously not what I wanted.
So they took me out of public school, took away my laptop and phone, and forbid me of getting on any sort of social media, completely isolating me from my friends. This was probably the part of my life when I was the most depressed, and Iām surprised I didnāt kill myself. I was completely alone for 5 months. No friends, no support, no love. Just my parentās disappointment and the cruelty of loneliness.
At the end of the school year, my parents finally came around and gave me my phone and let me back on social media. I was excited, I finally had my friends back. They were extremely excited to see me and talk to me, but only at first. Eventually they realized they didnāt actually give a shit about me, and I felt even lonelier than I did before. The only friends I thought I had only liked me because they saw me five times a week.
After a summer of having almost no friends plus the weight of having to think about college, save money for moving out, keep my grades up, go to church each week and feel like shit because everyone there is against everything I live for, I have decided Iāve had enough. Iām never going to transition successfully, even when I move out. Iām never going to be happy with the way I look or sound. Iām never going to have enough friends to satisfy me. Iām never going to have enough love to satisfy me. Iām never going to find a man who loves me. Iām never going to be happy. Either I live the rest of my life as a lonely man who wishes he were a woman or I live my life as a lonelier woman who hates herself. Thereās no winning. Thereās no way out. Iām sad enough already, I donāt need my life to get any worse. People say āit gets betterā but that isnāt true in my case. It gets worse. Each day I get worse.
Thatās the gist of it, thatās why I feel like killing myself. Sorry if thatās not a good enough reason for you, itās good enough for me. As for my will, I want 100% of the things that I legally own to be sold and the money (plus my money in the bank) to be given to trans civil rights movements and support groups, I donāt give a shit which one. The only way I will rest in peace is if one day transgender people arenāt treated the way I was, theyāre treated like humans, with valid feelings and human rights. Gender needs to be taught about in schools, the earlier the better. My death needs to mean something. My death needs to be counted in the number of transgender people who commit suicide this year. I want someone to look at that number and say āthatās fucked upā and fix it. Fix society. Please.
Goodbye,
(Leelah)Ā JoshĀ Alcorn
What I would give to not feel or care anymore..
Have u had an mri for Ur back pain
Oh yes, multiple ones. They all show the disc I herniated but no other abnormalities. It's so frustrating going from specialist to specialist and not getting much help. I'm still in terrible pain every day and I can feel my health diminishing. Idk if you suffer from back pain, but it you do, I hope you feel better soon!
Um Hii I just wanted to say that you're beautiful and i love your blog and I kinda have a big crush on you. :3 have a great day!
Aww thank you! You're too kind :)
So then... who IS A Thousand Miles about? D: (and congrats on getting to see Vanessa again! Lucky ^^)
thank you :)
it's about some actor...maybe you've heard of him...wes bentley! and daaamn i think i'd walk a thousand miles for that fine piece of ass too hahaha!they both attended juliard around the same time. she would see him all the time in between classes in the hall but never said one word to him :P
i don't post on tumblr that often anymore. i don't do it on purpose. i guess the urge to post comes and goes for me.Ā
those who know me know that vanessa carlton is one of my biggest inspirations. being a musician myself, watching her take the stage is something i always admired. her music is beautifully melodic. it's honest. it's personal and intimate.
on october 15th, i got to see vanessa for the 8th time and met her for a 3rd time. every experience with her is magical. a bewitching show of raw talent and truth, a talented woman who feels like her fans are just as bewitching. her set was a great mix of old and new intertwined. she shared 3 new songs, stories from being on the road, and even revealed who the song A Thousand Miles was about (which she has never told before!)
another personal tidbit she shared with us was that she was expecting her first child. it was very early on in the pregnancy, but not too early that she was able to announce it. i had known she was pregnant by hearing about it a week before, but she still hadn't made any statements to the press. it was shared with those she believed deserved to know.Ā
i manage to capture that moment. the video above is one i took as she announced her surprise, and followed it with one of her new songs Take it Easy.Ā
little did we know, the next day she would be rushed to the hospital where she found out that she was suffering from an ectopic pregnancy (which settled into her fallopian tube) and that not only would the child not be able to survive, but it could kill her as well. she was given a mild dose of chemotherapy which would shrink the pregnancy so it could pass and hopefully not rupture her fallopian tube. unfortunately, a week later she was rushed back to the ER. her fallopian tube had begun to rupture, causing internal bleeding, and she underwent emergency surgery to fully remove her right fallopian tube. i can't imagine all the pain she has had to deal with these past few weeks...all i can do is hope she is on her way to recovery and takes the time to let both her mental and physical wounds heal. she discusses wanting to get back into the tour as soon as next week, but i hope she listens to her own advice and takes it easy for awhile. you got this, girl Ā <3Ā
