Have you ever wondered what happens after you’ve saved the world?
I’ve been kinda alluding to my persona 3 au for some time now, and I decided to finally introduce it to y’all. I alternate between calling it my p3 sitcom au and my p3 Canadian au, but you could also think of it as a work heavily inspired by the events of persona 3 because much has changed between the au and the canon! It follows the cast through the events of 2009/2010 and until 15 years later, in 2025.

The setting is the fictionalized city of East Hants, Nova Scotia. It’s the largest city in Maritime Canada and partly owned by billion dollar company the Kirijo Group. The main character stays Makoto Yuki/p3 mc known as Alex. The story was originally an epilogue but morphed over time into a complete rewrite. The biggest change? Alex survives the events of the game to live the rest of his life. All of the characters have to figure out how to live a normal life after saving the world as teenagers!
Terms:
SEES: still stands for Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad. Allegedly a program for gifted teenagers attending East Hants Kirijo High, it’s actually a group of teenagers who fight monsters! They are a subsidiary of the Kirijo group and are meant to save the world! What could go wrong!
Tartarus: same as the games. Where the shadows come from.
Shadows: Creatures of unknown origin that wander during the dark hour. Are confined to wandering a certain area around Tartarus that expands after the defeat of a full moon Shadow. When they attack, they give people Apathy Syndrome.
Apathy Syndrome: what happens when a Shadow drains your soul. You become lethargic, unable to speak, and need to be directed in order to do anything. Completely reversed when the world is saved.
EHKH: East Hants Kirijo High, the school they all attend. Named after Mitsuru’s older brother, who died in a car accident.
The (major) cast is as follows (this will change as I give the characters last names):
Mitsuru Kirijo -> Mitsuru Kirijo (still): heiress and later CEO to the Kirijo technology and weapons company. Leader of SEES because she’s the most responsible. Takes her job very seriously and always believes she’s the most important person in the room.
Makoto Yuki/Minato Arisato -> Alex: sole survivor of the car crash that killed his parents. Member of SEES with the ability to use all persona powers, making him the leader in Tartarus. Goes to medical school to become a surgeon. Lives in a shitty apartment that kinda looks like a school dorm.
Yukari Takeba -> Yukari: daughter of an alleged terrorist that gets in frequent arguments with her mother (perhaps because they’re just too similar). Member of SEES. Future microbiologist who works at the hospital. Fairly popular. Always wears the colour pink.
Akihiko Sanada -> Akihiko Sanada: Olympic gold medalist boxer and adoptive father of Ken Amada. The strongest (physically) member of SEES by a long shot. Wants to become a cop once he’s made enough money through boxing sponsorships. Wants to be strong enough to protect his family because he blames himself for the death of his sister.
Junpei Iori -> Junpei O’Reilly: normal boy originally from Newfoundland. Member of SEES. Takes an outdoor job with the city right out of high school and lives a pretty drama free life with his girlfriend, Chidori. He really likes to cause drama for other people, though.
Ken Amada -> adoptive son of Akihiko Sanada. The youngest member of SEES at only 10 years old. Later goes to law school to become a prosecutor (which may or may not have to do with his Ace Attorney fixation). His mother died when he was 8 years old, leaving his all alone until he joined SEES.
Fuuka Yamagishi -> Fuuka Blackthorne: disappointing second daughter in a family of doctors. SEES’s navigator (aka the only one that doesn’t have to actually fight). Her family practically disowns her because she wants to be an engineer. Like cosplaying anime on weekends.
Aigis -> Aigis: military robot created by the Kirijo group during the war. She believes it’s her duty to protect Alex after she develops sentience. Later becomes Mitsuru Kirijo’s assistant/bodyguard.
Taylor (OC!): girl who’s always wanted to be a hero like the characters in the book she’s read. Member of SEES who uses guns to shoot the Shadows. Tends to jump for job to job and doesn’t want to commit to one thing for the rest of her life. Her favourite colour is purple by far.
Shinjiro Aragaki -> Kenneth “Shinji”: orphan who joins SEES at the same time as best friend Akihiko Sanada. Deceased as of October 4th 2009. Member of SEES. Strongly opinionated on most things.
Chidori Yoshino -> Chidori: an escaped Kirijo lab experiment. Though she has been made to see the dark hour, she cannot use a persona. She moves in with Junpei after high school and works at a local art gallery. Has an uncanny ability to observe people.
Kenji Tomochika -> Kenji: normal boy who gets into trouble with a teacher in high school. Later grows up to work in business and eventually runs his own. He is the second son in his family, and his parents don’t pay as much attention to him as they should (possibly because his siblings are so high maintenance).
Kaz Miyamoto -> Kaz Miyamoto: over enthusiastic leader of the EHKH track team. He gets to go to the Olympics (once his knee recovers from surgery) and medals twice! Spends most of the rest of the time watching his younger sisters or preparing for his coaching career.
Yuko Nishiwaki -> Jiya Patel: girl who’s always had a passion for sports, despite her parent’s insistence she should get a real job. Grows up to work in coaching, eventually reaching Olympic level. Does not take shit from anyone. Ever.
Mary Rebeka “Becky” St. George (OC): family is incredibly Catholic, so she ends up running away from home to marry Kenji at age 18. Has always dreamed of being a teacher.
Wilhelmina “Will” (OC): hates the way her parents named her with a burning passion. Ken Amada’s friend from school. Eventually drops out of university to join a punk band, which he helps with.
Carter (OC): normal nerd guy from school and Ken Amada’s best friend. They meet in middle school. Grows up to become an accountant. Literally the normalest guy ever.
Sora (OC): model who moves to join his family in East Hants in 2021. He meets Ken Amada and they become boyfriends. The world’s biggest cat enthusiast.

Wanted to show off my messy persona headcanon family trees thing, I’m planning on making a post that’ll go into detail on their dynamics but I’ll get to that when I’m not feeling so lazy.
I’m sure someone is wondering where these headcanons came from and all I can say is that I have no idea.
