remember when we all though that reed (then blondie) was gonna flirt with Cyrus and make TJ jealous but then the plot about the gun/peer pressure was revealed so we were like oh okay reed is Not gonna flirt with Cyrus and then we got the actual episode and reed said “maybe it is your thing, you never really know unless you try” like That and we were like

Whether or not you’re an Andi Mack fan, PLEASE READ THIS!!

as you probably know, andi mack is about halfway through season 3, and it still hasn’t been renewed for a season 4.

disney channel has had very little to no marketing for the show recently, and they clearly aren’t intent on making another season, probably because it’s more expensive to produce and because they’re afraid of backlash from groups like one million moms.

we also know that andi mack tackles important topics like racism, sexism, disabilities, anxiety, and lgbt+ issues (to name a few). for disney, this is a massive step for representation for people from different backgrounds. kids of color are seeing another kid of color being told to “tame” her natural hair. kids with disabilities are seeing that their disability doesn’t define or restrict them. lgbt+ kids are seeing a gay boy come to terms with his sexuality, and this particular boy made disney history once again on friday night by coming out to his friend by saying, “i’m gay.” kids with disabilities are seeing that their disability doesn’t define or restrict them. and let’s not forget that 2/3 of the main characters (including THE main character) are poc.

anywhoo, i’ve made a petition on change.org (<< linked). we need to let the disney execs know that we want a season 4. even if they just see it, just once, that would be enough. this petition isn’t only for us, it’s for the younger viewers as well. those kids deserve to have more positive role models from diverse backgrounds. those kids (most likely) don’t have access to any social media or change platforms where they can express their opinions. you have access to the internet, so use it. help give these kids another season of andi mack.

while you’re at it, it’d be really cool if you guys could share (whether on the petition or on here) how andi mack has affected you or someone you know. i’ve seen some really sweet stories of viewers coming out after 2x01 and 3x11.
