i used to run from demons.

their eyes are dark, their faces always clouded in shadow, and we were enemies.

we were enemies.

but now we’re here. we’re human incarnate. our memories are foggy, our morals wobbly. there are sinful angels and virtuous demons. we’re no longer our old selves.

their eyes reflect mine in their darkness, but it isn’t dangerous. it’s sadness. and as we lace our fingers together, i feel a little bit lighter.
