He’s trying to tune the late birthday gift bestowed to him by Ryan -- - an item he hadn’t seen in years. she let him sleep in today,  well til about ten before she climbed up on his bed and started jumping around. the whole day was planned   out and she’d be damned if they had to leave something out cause he was a sleepy head. ellie stopped jumping,  laying down and rolling on top of him.

It was unusual for him to get his much sleep. Even on his days off, the days of sleeping until the evening hours were over after he  came home with Ellie. Not that he minded; he liked spending time with his daughter, and it enabled him to be productive around the house. Yet still, it was neither expected or surprising to hear the turn of the door handle and then the WHUMP of feet on a mattress as she took a flying leap on his bed. Blue hues opened and he rolled over onto his back, his lungs hissing as they filled with a deep breath. 

    “- --Hey, kiddo,” He replied, the sleep thick in his      voice. A strong arm wrapped around her shoulders      tightly, pulling her into a big bear hug. “I’m up, I’m      up.” A hand ruffled her hair; teeth flashed  a drowsy      smile. “Stuff.”
