I’m a slow learner… but I learn.
There are ghosts in Winterfell.
Jon/Sansa + OTP tags
Remember that time when Jonsa inspired two best sellers authors to co-write fanfiction and made another one want to read it?

Disfigurements
So are there any metas around about the significance of Jon burning his hand and getting a scar around the same time The Hound - noted for his burn marks - started interacting with Sansa more prominently?
He had burned himself more badly than he knew throwing the flaming drapes, and his right hand was swathed in silk halfway to the elbow. At the time he’d felt nothing; the agony had come after. His cracked red skin oozed fluid, and fearsome blood blisters rose between his fingers, big as roaches. “The maester says I’ll have scars, but otherwise the hand should be as good as it was before.”
- Jon, A Game of Thrones.
His ear had been burned away; there was nothing left but a hole. His eye was still good, but all around it was a twisted mass of scar, slick black flesh hard as leather, pocked with craters and fissured by deep cracks that gleamed red and wet when he moved.
- Sansa, A Game of Thrones.
Or of how Jon’s face is scratched and scarred through Orell’s bird clawing at him, around the same time Sansa is married to Tyrion, who’s scarred face from the Battle of the Blackwater became his new feature?
He had almost forgotten about his face. “A skinchanger tried to rip out my eye.”
Noye frowned. “Scarred or smooth, it’s a face I thought I’d seen the last of. We heard you’d gone over to Mance Rayder.”
- Jon, A Storm of Swords.
“I like your scar.” She traced it with her finger. “It makes you look very fierce and strong.”
He laughed. “Very ugly, you mean.”
“M’lord will never be ugly in my eyes.” She kissed the scab that covered the ragged stub of his nose.
- Tyrion, A Storm of Swords.
Then there’s also the mention of marrying Sansa to Willas Tyrell who has a bad leg that he acquired in his first tourney, and Jon getting shot in the leg with an arrow by Ygritte in the same book not long after.
“Willas has a bad leg but a good heart,” said Margaery. “He used to read to me when I was a little girl, and draw me pictures of the stars. You will love him as much as we do, Sansa.”
- Sansa, A Storm of Swords.
Noye crossed the room. “Your leg is drenched in blood.”
Jon looked down dully. It was true. His wound had opened again. “An arrow wound…”
“A wildling arrow.” It was not a question. Noye had only one arm, but that was thick with muscle. He slid it under Jon’s to help support him. “You’re white as milk, and burning hot besides. I’m taking you to Aemon.”
- Jon, A Storm of Swords.
I found it interesting nonetheless, the scars he acquired don’t often seem to get brought up!
Let me know your insights and what you guys think! x
I am constantly impressed by Jonsa meta.
But every so often I read one that leaves me going: HOLY SHIT.
This is one.
Can I repeat? HOLY SHIT.
Thank you <3

Unpopular opinion : if Jonsa happens I want the Jonsa fam to be gracious and not flood the Jonerys tag with gifs of it. I know there are some bad eggs in every group but I want Jonsa fans to be good about it and not awful.
ok valid but like honestly I’m kinda over this whole “Jonsa fam should be ____” like the reality is, people come from all walks of life and we should stop treating one member of the fandom as representative of how the entire group behaves. Like, I don’t think I’ll flood their tag because yeah, asshole move, but I will be smug about it and tweet my reaction live hahahaha.
j and d's hookup didn't win worst shocker from e!online (it came a close second lol) and they literally said "we're so glad J and D's hookup didn't win, because we did NOT want to go get a screen cap of that atrocity" IM DEAD omfg the article is here: eonline. com/photos/24879/tv-scoop-awards-2018-the-winners-are/855807
TEA SIS
Hi! Can I be super late to the unpopular opinion meme? Here's mine: The YMBQ isn't one person. It's a combination of at least three. I think it's whoever Cersei happens to be fixated on at that point in her life. Margaery took much that Cersei held dear and cast her down for a time. Dany is currently threatening to do the same on the show. And if set leaks are any guide, it's Sansa who's there during Cersei's final moments and likely instrumental in her downfall. The YMBQ is all three of them.
Interesting opinion! I think it is much more complex than boiling it down to one character but I do believe if it had to fall onto a single one, it would be Sansa. But I see how it can be interpreted as all three of them – they all play a part to an extent, to driving Cersei past her breaking point and testing her for a time, but then again you could just argue the prior two are red herrings.
wow I say “but” a lot why do any of you still follow this blog

your The Starks are the heart of the story post is soo true also in the end of season seven if a t@rg restoration was gonna happen. the bo@tbang shouldve been the last scene instead we got sansa and arya talking about the pack surviving and then right after we get bran si it shows that the starks are the heart of the story. anyways love the post!
Thank you so much! I’m so sorry I haven’t been responding to any asks lately and have been off from Tumblr so I just got the chance to reply <3
If I’m not mistaken, GRRM’s mentioned how Sansa, Bran and Arya are at the centre of the story too - so people discounting Sansa for “not being a Big 5 character” from his original draft is ridiculous. The Starks were the first family we were introduced to, we were meant to root for them from a narrative standpoint. At least in my opinion that is. I still cheer on for other characters just as much.
SPECULATION - SPOTTED AT THE GoT WRAP PARTY
The Targaryen and Stark sigil together.
What’re your thoughts?
Personally to me, this nods to the endgame theories most of the Jonsa community has subscribed to, being that the houses will align and take on a new sigil just like the War of the Roses(of which the story has adapted elements from -- Sansa paralleling Elizabeth of York).
I know you came up with pre-canon jonsa, I love that theory but We know cersei/Jaime "experimented" while growing up, right? We also know J/S have all the inverse paralells with J/C. So the thing is, if Jonsa is supposed to be the positive mirror means that nothing happened pre-canon. Or does that mean that something innocent did happen between the two, but they both felt so guilty afterwards that they removed it from their memories?
Hello anon! Thank you for the ask!
I wouldn’t say I came up with the idea of pre-canon jonsa… There were already fics about it and stuff, so I don’t consider it a revolutionary concept I personally came up with or anything. I just wrote a meta [x], which I still believe to be mostly crack even though I’d love it to be canon and if it ends up actually being canon in the books I’ll never shut up about it…
The idea while writing it was that, if there was something there, not only was it completely one sided from Jon’s side, but also innocent and maybe not even consciously acknowledged by him.Think of it like the sweet crush Bran has on Meera in the books (whose foil is the not-so-sweet crush Sweetrobin has on “Alayne”, where he doesn’t respect her boundaries and gets physical with her despite Sansa’s discomfort).
I know that people took this theory and run away with it, theorizing that maybe there was the opposite to an un-kiss between Jon and Sansa back then, where they kissed and both felt guilty and suppressed the memory, but I already consider the unrequited crush a stretch, so I don’t subscribe to those theories. On the contrary, I believe that since Jon and Sansa’s dynamic has been set up by GRRM to be the foil to Jai.me and Cer.sei’s relationship, as you said yourself, there was nothing going on between them back in Winterfell.
Just to highlight some of the juxtapositions that make those two relationships foils so far:
Jai.me and Cer.sei look like a gender-swapped version of each other, while Jon and Sansa look nothing alike, to the point that they wouldn’t even pass as siblings
Jai.me and Cer.sei were extremely close as children, but Jon and Sansa barely interacted during their childhood
Jai.me joined a celibate knightly order to be close to Cer.sei, while Jon joined one that would put him as far from Sansa as possible (I’m not saying he joined because of Sansa, just that Castle Black is far away from King’s Landing)
So, if jonsa is a thing and GRRM continues to juxtapose the two, it means that:
Where Jai.me and Cer.sei experimented with each other physically as children, Jon just admired Sansa from afar (if my my theory is correct)
Where Jai.me and Cer.sei gave in to their passion with zero moral qualms about the wrongness of the incest, Jon and Sansa will be tormented about it and not give in to their passion until after Jon’s parentage is revealed.
Just to add on, in the OG post, @lady-in-a-song suggested that this admiration of Sansa would be subconscious and have more to do with “not being Stark”, like Theon.
People assume Jon and Sansa hated each other, but I think it’s exaggerated around her calling him “half brother” (not “bastard brother”, which is reserved in her thoughts and the other Stark kids also bring it up in their thoughts). They just don’t relate to each other because their worlds were completely separate in Winterfell. If Jon interacted with her it was because the rest of the Starks were around, like the crypt prank that Arya remembers, not because either of them sought the other out. She was always an extension of the pack and this shows through his thoughts about them after reading the Pink Letter.
The Night’s Watch takes no part. He closed his fist and opened it again. What you propose is nothing less than treason. He thought of Robb, with snowflakes melting in his hair. Kill the boy and let the man be born. He thought of Bran, clambering up a tower wall, agile as a monkey. Of Rickon’s breathless laughter. Of Sansa, brushing out Lady’s coat and singing to herself. You know nothing, Jon Snow. He thought of Arya, her hair as tangled as a bird’s nest. I made him a warm cloak from the skins of the six whores who came with him to Winterfell … I want my bride back … I want my bride back … I want my bride back …
- Jon XIII, ADWD
Sansa is the only Stark who he remembers with their direwolf in this moment as he sees her “singing to herself” while engrossed in brushing Lady’s coat. To me this signifies how relationship was always by extension, someone untouchable because of a huge gap between them. That said, all these memories are positive ones he has of the Stark children, so this memory of Sansa brushing Lady’s hair and singing is something he thinks of fondly, despite a lot of thoughtlessness of each other compared to the other Starks. In fact, Ygritte and Val’s singing is used to humanise them in Jon’s eyes - one as a lover and one as a mother to a child. In fact, his thoughtlessness about Sansa’s marriage to Tyrion, accusations of treason in assassinating Joffrey and escaping King’s Landing are especially odd when he keeps asserting “Winterfell belongs to my sister, Sansa” that it seems almost deliberate, considering they’ve never interacted on the page in present time.
The other day @shinynewrevulsions and I were discussing this issue about why Jon was so angry about leaving, and I think both Joffrey and Theon, who are his foils, in specific situations are important here and both relate to Sansa.

What is the point of this, Mr. Bogdanow? We have arranged an exchange with your cluster. There’s nowhere to go from here except home.
Imagine being so very bitter about a fictional ship that you publicly trash a fandom’s efforts to raise money for real life women survivors of war. Can’t relate to being such a sad fuck, sorry.
