Calling All Earthlings! Open Starter || Guild Of Heroes
Stranger-Danger :
“If this is that asshole alien supervisor’s fault I’m shooting him in the fucking head.” Seth spat to ‘himself’, knowing full well that somebody else was possibly listening in. The handler grabbed his shield generator and slotted it onto his belt, checking the slide of his pistol and chuckling a little. “Compensating for something my ass. Let’s see if the standard-issue 9mm can even do anything to your average alien.”
He grabbed his headset and keyed in to the frequency that, by law, all heroes that either had headsets or could just hear radio communications had to listen to at all times. “Seth Dietrich, Handler Registration Number 0-2-9-Alpha-5. Give me a status update, people, what’s the situation on the ground right now?”
◤ ♛ ◥ —– THE SOUND OF a radio besides her, in an abandoned shop made the woman jump out of her skin. Why the ever loving fuck would the owners that were there make it that loud in the first place, unless it was some sort of trap. Fionn bit her lip, deciding on what her next action should be. If it was a trap, then her opening the door could trigger something. Like maybe a swinging axe from all those cliché movies. But that would be unoriginal, surely everyone saw that coming.
Deciding to bite the bullet, she pushed the door open, the bell dinging for a moment before the door closed behind her. The room was incredibly dark, which almost shocked her. They had enough time to turn off the fucking lights, but apparently not lock the door. Ironic. The radio sat pretty in the back too, behind yet another unlocked door. Her pale hands touched the cold metal, using what little she had learned about it to operate.
❝ Not sure if this is working, but there’s literally nothing down here, so I’m assuming they’re all huddled together planning something? ❞ Ugh, why did she ask that. She knew no one would know the answer to that. ❝ D-do we have any insight on the east side? The one with the all boys school? They’re all locked in there, I need to know if they’re safe. ❞
“East side’s all clear for now, one of the bigger leagues has kept the fighting mostly contained to downtown.” Seth said into the radio, rolling his eyes. Just his luck that a civilian would be on the radio. “Look, ma’am, this is a classified transmission. If you’re not a registered hero or a member of the military you need to get off this line and stay underground until the all clear is sounded.”
Except he could have sworn he recognized her voice from somewhere. Not necessarily the government files, but...Cross knew a lot of things. Opening his PDA once he was sure nobody else could see him, he used the futuristic tech that Cross had hidden in his government-issue supplies to locate the response before hacking into a security camera, a small smile crossing his face at the sight.
“Well, well, well. So you’ve been hiding in plain sight.” He murmured under his breath. Now, why would a missing hero care so much about an all boys school? That was information worth keeping down. He keyed back into his headset, keeping his voice clear of any suspicion. “Of course, even if you’re not a registered hero, I’m sure we can keep any activity off the books seeing as this is a state of emergency.”
