goo goo dolls if they were in dune: and i don’t want the worm to see me
This is something people have forgotten. Cabinet members didn't used to be household names. You only heard of them when they fucked up royally.
The thing about Lord/Knight gay romance is that there’s no way you can cut it that doesn’t make the sex hotter. At a baseline, the Lord is allowing his subject to be his equal partner behind closed doors in a society defined by hierarchy their physical love a blaspheme against the laws of feudalism, but if the knight is dominant, they’re literally upending the fabric of society by having the Lord follow his Knight’s orders and that’s hot and if the Lord is dominant than it’s just another expression of his Knight’s sworn devotion to be at his lord’s service at all times and that’s hot and if it’s historically accurate Christianity then they’re not only desecrating and perverting the Knight’s vow, they’re making sinners of each other in the process and that’s HOT
The most irritating phenomenon to come out of shipping discourse is people applying arbitrary limits to very broad dynamics under the guise of objective analysis. They talk about what “works” and what doesn’t “work” as if their preferences are universal and not influenced by their own unique experiences and beliefs. They confuse what they personally enjoy for what is “correct”.
This is how you get people saying crazy stuff like “Enemies to Lovers can only work well when neither of the characters are aligned with something inherently evil” or claiming that it’s morally wrong to ship characters with an uneven power dynamic. Like…enemies to lovers is a trope that is defined by pushing and pulling between the parties involved. The power dynamics are subject to change and that’s what makes it so engaging. Why are you so obsessed with defanging the core ethos of the trope?
there should be a term for characters you personally don't care about but you defend them anyways because the way people treat them is really uncomfortable. like ok this is a very middle-of-the-road character for me but the fandom's either been super misogynistic, racist, etc. about them or harassed innocent people who try to genuinely explore that character warts and all, and i find that more annoying than the actual character.
the term should by 'my client', like you're a lawyer defending your client that you are completely indifferent to but you are obligated by your job (or your morals) to defend
sorry to be a broken record every month but christ menstruation is a stupid concept. oooooh excuse me for not getting pregnant, why the fuck is there goo falling out of me about it? grow the fuck up and reabsorb that shit for nutrients.
This blog is my adult version of cutting pictures out of magazines and glueing them on to paper
might be the headonism in me but what the fuck is a dopamine addiction. you mean liking feeling good?? in the one life you get????? what are you evangelical?????????
banger tags after bager tags on this post fellas
How to explain to people that the harmful part of addiction is the harmful patterns of compulsive behavior and not the parts that feel good?
I love that I learned about mega churches the old fashioned way many years ago.
I was on a train here in Denmark with my boyfriend at the time and we randomly got into a conversation with a very friendly young American guy. At some point he said he enjoyed how religion played a very small role here and mention growing up Christian and going to a mega church in the US.
We had no idea what he meant by mega church. He seemed equally surprised that we didn’t. When he explained it I remember feeling like he was explaining an alien culture to me. What do you mean it’s a church with room for thousands of people? Aren’t churches supposed to be close knit communities where people know each other? How can they hear the priest? Speakers? Yeah okay that makes sense. But can people even see the priest? Giant screens!? Okay that seems a bit much. What do you mean stage show!?
Please please imagine a very gentle American trying to not sound insane to two dumbfounded Danes with thick accents while they’re sitting on a train with the flat yellow flower fields going by at great speed outside on a bright summer day. It’s one of my favourite memories.
HAPPY PRIDE
the natural lifespan of a fandom is unlimited. when well tended a fandom can be functionally immortal. and yet everywhere you look you see newly bred fandoms withering and dying when they’re barely a year old. barely even six months old. fans are looking at their six month old fandoms and saying i think it’s on its last legs, should i euthanise it? when with the proper care that fandom could outlive them for decades. it’s sad. sad state of affairs we’re in.
Real and growing possibility of him dying live on tv and nobody in the room noticing for minutes on end.
Likes charge, reblogs cast.
you can tell he is fucking SEETHING about this. it's really beautiful
for context this is just him accusing Democrats of everything
The second Dan Sullivan is also a Republican, and running as such (the Democrats are AFIK putting most effort towards Mary Pelolta)
i feel like those posts thatre like “REAL gay people don’t talk about yaoi discourse they go to gay clubs and do ket” are crazy like i understand they’re critiquing a hyper specific genre of online queer but babe they can do both… i know people who are ravers and are always on shrooms and read mcr rpf like i feel like we draw a big line between the online queer community and the in person one but that girls at gay bars have tumblr accounts it’s really not that seperate
