Welcome to tumblr! I’d like to give you a quick rundown of basics

reblog stuff rather than liking. If you want to distinguish reblogs from original posts tag all your original posts with the same thing, like #my stuff or whatever you want. reblogging stuff is how things are shared, so if you think your followers might like it or you want to save it for yourself you can reblog! You can also tag stuff so you can find it later, like reblogging a post and tagging it #spiritfarer will allow you to look for it later!

likes are mostly a bookmarking thing, or to show that you’ve seen someone’s response to something you said (if you comment on a post and then someone says something nice in the tags when they reblog from you, you can like their version of the post to let them know you saw it)

you don’t have to make likes or following public, most people don’t do it and the whole site prefers to be pretty anonymous.

another thing with tags, if you reblog someone’s art and think it’s pretty but don’t want to say that in comments or replies, you can just do that in tags! That way the creator still sees it without it being permanently attached to the post.
