Anon that asked about asian squats; I am disappointed to report that my father can, but I CANNOT. My luck. Endlessly rotten.

Definitely a Spider-man pose and we need more Asian Spider-heroes. Chindo / indonesian too perhaps.. Also need to draw Sam Chung this way too now, not that he's a Spider-person.

AUGH </3 an unlucky exception perhaps.. but ive heard that anyone can work on their flexibility to do an Asian squat so maybe not a permanent exception if you really wanna do it!!!

Could I ask about the Asian spideys? Also, may I ask what would define an Asian squat?

HAII OF COURSE <33🩵 An Asian squat is when you squat fully down and can rest with heels touching the floor, and its super stable basically like sitting down ^^ it's called Asian squat because people who are able to do it are usually Asian, (very huge region, including Russia, where ive heard it referred to as the Slav squat), or have some asian heritage. Usually people outside of the region can only squat down and rest on the balls of their feet, and if they try to put their heels to the floor they fall backwards.

I thiiink its because of diff flexibility around the hip joints?? im not totally sure why its asians specifically? BUTTTT there are always exceptions, i have a European friend with no Asian heritage who can Asian squat just fine, and i have a Singaporean Indian friend who can't do it which is rare. #funfact

Since its SO much more stable and comfortable than squatting on the balls of the feet I always assumed spider-man did it that way, but u look at spidey art and they're always on the balls of the feet, but its probably comfy for spideys since theyre super flexible anyway <3 and since Perching is so iconic to spidey i always wanted to see an Asian spidey doing the Asian squat instead :3 hehe

Also im already so happy with the many Asian spideys we already have (pav, silk, and delilah who is cambodian!), But i would love to see an official chinese spidey, which im surprised there are 0 of since the biggest ethnic group in the world is the han chinese! Tho theres absolutely No rush cuz there are PLENTY of east asian spideys already, mostly the 8~ official japanese spider people (takuya, sakura spider, comic peni, itsv peni, mangaverse, the other manga one, yu onomae and yu komori)

Of course im just one singaporean chinese girl and Asia is Huge, so its just my view !🩵🦋 I'd love to see more southeast Asian or south Asian spideys too but delilah and pav are already delightful!! YAY!! Asian mutuals feel oh so welcome to add anything! 🩵
