I have mentioned it earlier that my collaboration with Quixotic was a shocker to the entire local scene, as they were sure that it’s something that would never happen. As we were the two guys who kickstarted the synthwave scene in Hungary and we are still the two main names there were some inevitable rivalry between the two of us, and during the years lots of fuel were added to the fire by us, and by the people who support us.
The competition between us is still ongoing, but we found common ground and mutual respect for each other as we both share an unconditional love not only for synthwave, but machines as well. I’m producing powerful and modern darksynth music, and he is making that nostalgic palmtrees-neonlights-miamisunsets kind of synthwave. Also he is a car guy and I’m a biker. But in the end we are both musicians and we are both in love with speed and machines, so there is some common ground.
Our track “SPEEDRACER” which can be found on my new album “DEATH & GLORY” have received great reviews from both camps, so I thought I’d put together a video for it using some of my favorite street racing and drift videos. So here’s something to kickstart your weekend.
All that being said, Quixotic is a great guy, but I don’t think this rivalry between us will ever die off. Not in the studio. Not on the roads. And not because we hate each other, but because we just love to compete a bit too much.
