All of these nick audios are a blessing
thanks <3 sorry it’s been a bit dead. Work, deadlines and tumblr lit dying doesn’t help. x-x
Watching from a distance as Bethesda sinks in bad choices.
Boy I sure do love Nick Valentine.
Nick talking about Radroaches
Nick really hates bugs.
Nicks combat dialogue. (aggressive)
i like how nobody can bring up anything fallout 4 related without somebody jumping in to be negative lmao
Meh it’s bound to happen. I’m more negative towards Bethesda’s choices than the games themselves these days. Not that I’m in the camp that only want obsidian to make new FO either. The games Industry is just a huge mess right now.
The telltale thing is depressing, and I’m glad the studio shut down since they were mistreating their staff, who I hope find better work. But man, my fantasies of a Fallout Telltale game staring Nick Valentine are now very much dead.
Those were alredy dead, u know how Bethesda works…
my delusions were at least valid for awhile. D8 But yeah...Bethesda seems to be allergic to good ideas for fallout.

Things I think about: Nick Valentine is a century older than pre-war Nick. He’s experienced things human Nick hasn’t and lived a whole lifetime in the post-war commonwealth. If pre-war Nick stepped out of a cryo-pod and met synth Nick, they would very much be different people at this point.
What if this was Fallout 4…
What if, instead of playing one of the concerned parents, you are actually Shaun / the child, kidnapped before you could even retain proper memories?
What if you grow up in the Institute and learn all its ideology and reasons for wanting to dominate the commonwealth? What if you have a choice to either befriend or reject synths as a youngster, shaping you for the rest of your life?
What if you can decide to escape the Institute in a fit of youthful rebellion and your caretakers let you, deciding that maybe you’ll only truly understand their vision if you’ve seen the post-nuclear horrors for yourself?
What if you can find all the other factions and learn their side is the story? What if you help people in need and learn how happy some of them are despite having a mere fraction of the luxury you grew up in?
What if you can grow older through playing the main story, and as you do, the political landscape changes? The Institute is responsible for the deaths of many. You know both sides of the story, yet you become unsure of the truth… unsure of your destiny as the Institute’s leader.
What if you find out the truth about your own kidnapping? Hidden somewhere deep within Institute archives? Or revealed by Kellogg, the man who was supposed to be your father figure but around whom you always felt a little off? What if your people had told you— all your life— that your parents were dead? Will you forgive them? Or will you try to find your kin against all odds? You know nothing about your history, you were just a baby. Will the memory den unearth subconscious memories you retained as a child? Will you find clues leading you to Sanctuary and then to the vault? Will some of the companions help you on your quest? Will you need to convince Codsworth of your identity before he will trust you and tell you everything he knows?
What do you do when you find your patent(s)? Will your release him/her/them or spare them the horrors of this world?
If you bring them back, will your forge your own life with them or bring them to the Institute? What if they don’t agree with your decisions in life, your vision?
What if you turn your back on the Institute? The people who used you? Stole away a life that could have been? What if you side with the Brotherhood, having seen how power corrupts? What if you side with the Minutemen, having seen how much the hardworking, surviving souls out there depend on you? What if you side with the Railroad, having seen how synths are treated in the Institute, wanting to save your lifelong friends?
What if you turn your back on it all? What if there’s an all out war between the factions, a power vacuum coming to blows? You could have stopped it. You didn’t. But was it ever your responsibility at all? You never asked for this.
Does war ever change?
I made a fallout 4 video animatic. Please enjoy everyone’s favourite synth detective doing dumb things
sandwich joints.
Could you do the audio for the We Are Done holotape? It’s one of my favorite sounds in the game! Love your blog by the way ;)
I did find Jonathan Widmarks unconverted files (guy who voices the We are Done holotape) but…
so bad news. The skyrim audio converter I used to change the voice files into mp3 files stopped working. So lifting new audio is currently not possible. I have all of Nicks dialogue and some other NPCs for sure. But if I don’t already have the converted files I can’t furfil audio requests. Sorry guys. 8c
Guys you can write walls of text about how the Gen 3 synths are machines and not clones and the nature of A.I and what people think in real life. But if the game states there’s no way to tell the difference between a synth and a human it kind of does imply you can only tell by the synth component that’s literally inside the brain and apparently can’t be picked up by x-ray. (Boi that whole infiltration thing would be fucked if that was the case) So no they don’t have other mechanical parts, because then there wouldn’t have been a whole side quest about a doctor resorting to mental torture. And we know people have access to blood tests so that means the blood passes for human unless you cross reference data you literally have to steal from the institute itself. (Danse)
I don’t even think this is some plot point thing, I just think the writers change the rules on synths throughout the game to make certain things work.
To Fellow Fallout players.
If you are interested in the lore, story and characters of the most messed up missions in Fallout 3, New Vegas and 4, then check out Oxhorn on Youtube. He takes you through the lore, the story and gives you insight into the characters involved. Definitely recommend for people, who may have missed the full story of certain areas in Fallout games. Give him a look, and if you enjoy? Definitely leave a like and sub. His content is worth watching.
I second this. Watched a few videos of his recently, and he’s pretty good at summarizing the lore. https://www.youtube.com/user/ClassyManIAm
would recommend! He even goes into the different loot you get in the areas and the lore behind certain items.
Not a big fan of Detroit become human but Boi I wish the Gen 3 Synths were more like the androids in that game where they’re very much plastic underneath synthetic skin. Cus the argument against the humanity of the Gen 3s feels very weak when you consider they’re Tofu clones with electronics in their brains. Â
I slightly disagree. I mean i love that gen 3 syths actually just artifically created humans. But its just my opinion.
cool cool. But I wouldn’t mind so much if the game gave you options to point out that Fathers androids are bullshit and he’s just making clones with cybernetics that destroy memories. Because it feels like the world and the game wants you to see the Gen 3s as machines that have ambiguous free will. It just feels very jarring.
The Institute and the brotherhood believing them not to be people makes sense cus you need to dehumanize your slaves and the people you hate. But again, I’m frustrated I have no options to say ‘They’re fucking CLONES you god damn hack! Of course you can erase their brains you stuffed hardware in there Kellogg had more electronics shoved up his ass then your average Gen 3!’
