I was tagged by @svankmajerbaby to post the last paragraph I wrote. Thank you Casi! I don't usually post WIP but I like tag games so let's do this.
Here's my first rough draft on a poem to Mana-sama. I hope you can read my handwriting.
I'm tagging @wolven-maw @synthy-sizer and @karyublue
Expedition results: Upon shutting down all intent and conceptual systems, the launch bay was opened. Agents entered in hazmat suits. Upon entering, agents reported spikes in radiation and the lack of a drone, only the umbilical it had been connected to, cut off cleanly where it would have met the opening into the Substrate. Drone was considered lost, and the area was evacuated and sealed off for radiation cleansing.
Conclusions: Although the chorus ignition combined with CERN’s particle accelerator seem perfectly capable of opening a tear into the Ontological Substrate, the shielding of the drone itself appears inadequate. The dissolution of the drone as well as the radiation in the launch bay aligns with early experiments into Field barriers. If something inside a barrier shielded from the Field is inadequately guarded by intention, it loses coherence and collapses down to the atoms (hence the radiation). Experiments will need to be conducted in order to fine-tune intentions that can adequately allow anything dropped into the Substrate to maintain its form.
Not many formal paragraphs in this project, I can't lie lol
Idk if I have anyone to tag but if you're a writer and follow me then keep the game going lol
I'm considering writing a story for r/nosleep because that's basically the only way to get your horror story recognized but I have some many fundamental issues with that subreddit and the beef makes me wanna not submit anything on principle. First person rule largely prevents the protagonist from dying which severely limits the ability to tell tragic endings, or stories where someone couldn't plausibly write about it on reddit. Being unable to break kayfabe means discussion and analysis has to be moved somewhere else. It's so fucking stupid, why is this the way horror creators hit it big online?
Apparently they have banned the method i was planning to use (archival found footage) To get around the first person rule. Fuck my life

Watched Pulse (2001), really enjoyed it. Although, I find it odd that so many J-horror shows and movies end with the world ending. The first like 80% of Pulse was such an expertly crafted quiet, unnerving horror experience and then the world just ended.

Have you ever thought about how covid has shaped horror? Iron Lung came out in 2023, and at its core is the monotony of being constantly under threat. If you're forced into a stressful situation for long enough, it starts feeling normal. You get bored, weirdly. You start accepting that your life is living in a tin can under millions of gallons of blood.
Similar to Glendale Archives. You can't mentally handle the stress of survival forever. Eventually you start to break. Your body is forced to waste time doing fun things and exploring because the load of surviving is too much to bear.
People memory holed a virus for the same reason, I think.
I wish I had found the Field before starting Eden. I think I've managed to get it pretty cohesive, but I could've thrown some more obvious hints in at the start if I had been aware of McTaggart when I was writing it. Another item to add to the remake list, I suppose.
shivering, choking, unraveling on your bathroom floor
Whenever I remake the Eden stories I'm changing the Cathode Ray Mission to Cathode Ray Temple. The Videodrome reference is nice, but I should've picked a name that can be abbreviated to CRT.
