I feel compelled here to say thoughts which have been building up for a while. Iron and Steel's official hosting is with Comic Fury. That is where about 90% of it's related material is stored along with the comic series. It gets a few views daily from silent readers I guess. But on the whole it only has two followers. A long time friend on Comic Fury and a friend who I've only known since late '15. I enjoy reading the feedback both provide when they care to do so. But the silent readers make me wonder are they reading it or browsing the site?
The friend from Comic Fury was introduced to it when I asked him if he'd kindly make an introduction ad. in the CF forum. He decided after that point he'd check out what he'd just voiced on. ( Explanation to me not talking in the CF forum back then is I was still reeling from troll attacks I'd suffered earlier there. ) The CF buddy from what I can guess in his spare time has been taking in my Inspector Gadget AU on two different fronts. Hes been reading the comic up dates but has also been reading it's backstories. I wonder if it's the massive collective media behind Iron and Steel why it's not being given a chance by those that might be interested in it.
Iron and Steel is the fourth large story out of the series. The large stories before it were all prose based. Short comic based stories were created while the first prose based ones were being written. This whole project started at almost the dawn of '15.
I tried to outline what Iron and Steel was in it's CF profile:
"This is an alternate universe take on Inspector Gadget. It mainly draws it's base inspiration from the classic series, but does use bits from the other incarnates done over the years. Don't expect to know what this is from knowing the canon content. This is a more serious & elaborate take on the fandom."
I honestly don't know how to lay that out better. I don't know what it is people expect it to be to only then get disappointed and leave the site without comment. The other day talking to a person on DeviantART, felt enlightening to guessing at this. The woman didn't know the difference between fan fiction continuation of a series and what alternate universe fan fiction meant. I encountered this issue early on in Buck Rogers Yahoo groups when it wasn't realized at first a large fact. I wasn't kidding when I called the 26th Century episodes an altered take on the fandom's stories.
Right here I want to give a few random pages sampling of Iron and Steel. I hope if you enjoy the Inspector Gadget fandom and wonder about these pages you might feel like reading the backstories which drive this story on. Those backstories go in the following order. I do not list the Gadget Boy ones for order since their connection was formed to Iron and steel once the series was well under way of being presented.
1: The Nature of Change & Destruction
2: The Rogue and The Jackal
