Isn’t this some crap

Hello my fellow bloggers. The current event that I will be speaking about today is the outbreak of E.coli. Basically what’s going on is that there have been many cases lately where they have found cow feces on the meat which is being serve in chipotle. This has been making the news because more and more chipotle have been getting shut down due to this situation. I feel that this is a topic that the students of buff state would like to hear about because I know most of us come from the city and have for a fact dine in at a chipotle before. As I looked more into this I found out that this has been happening due to the lack of care for the animals. In the farms where the cows stay they have them walking around in their own crap without any one cleaning them which causes the bacteria to transfer to the meat. And when they grind up the meat to be package all the bacteria is already in the meat and when served infects the people. This is not the first time that I have heard about the situation but I do feel that it is now starting to be looked at more serious because it is happening way too often. What I feel is best to do is stop eating from places that have E.coli and also stop buying the products which are being package with the bacteria because maybe they will notice there lack in income a work to make their food better for people to eat. I know that this cannot be done in a day but if all of us work together something will change. The way I see it is that they need us, we are the people responsible for them being able to make a good living. I know that this is something not a lot of people care about but I do feel that it affects so many people. Especially the people of lower class status. They are trying to feed us garbage. They don’t value us or our opinion. I find that to be so cruel and disrespectful. What I find so ironic is that this E.coli situation only occurs in places with low income. My reason for all of this is to keep us as people inform of the things that are going on around us. If we don’t take the time to find out what’s going on we will never know.

Blog 10

Hello my fellow bloggers. I will be writing about project 1 and how it has help me to build my project 2. Throughout the process of me developing my project 2 I have used what I learned in my writer reference also known as multimodal composing. I had to think outside the box to make my project the best it could be. Narrowing it down to one specific point instead of being such a wide topic. It took me a while to find which way I wanted to address the topic. I finally was able to get down to what I feel most people would have a view point about. I am hoping that the way I present my topic my classmates can have an understanding to wat I trying to get at. With multimodal composing you have to have the ability to think of stuff you would usually not think about. It’s more to the side of opening your horizons to new things. What I learned is that sometimes you need to explore the possibility to what can be done or hat you can do. When you do that there is no stopping what you do. I found this to help me a lot because I was stop coming into project 2. Now that I will focus on poultry and how they treat cows in order to use them for milk, beef and other cruel things. I find that this is hard to understand because not everyone has the knowledge due to the fact that we as students are not educated the way that we should be. Personally I have been struggling to get to where I want to be in my project. I just can’t seem to find a way to get readers to interact with it. All I would like to do is have other people want to read it because they like it not because they have to. I realize that I have become more involved with this topic the further I got into research. The things that I found out have had me think to myself do I really want to continue doing this. I felt that this topic had a major impact upon me. People never realize how things are for animals and if they did a lot of things would be different and personally I feel that most of us would become vegetarians. I am able to do this all due to multimodal composing. Bye my fellow bloggers.

Lacrosse fam

Hello my fellow bloggers my topic for this week will be about playing on the lacrosse team. Coming into this year I wanted to be more involved in school so I decided to join the lacrosse team. At first I was very skeptical to even going on the field to play with them. I had only played a little bit in high school. So transitioning from high school to college I felt would be very hard to do. I had many thoughts to if I would even fit in. Lucky I had two other friends who were willing to join with me because it would be an experience that we could all enjoy. The first day stepping on to the field we felt out of place. We did not let that discourage us. As I went through the drills I started to pick up the momentum of everything that I use to do in high school. It felt so natural. We played scrimmages to see where we need help at the most. At the end of the practices the captain said that we did great. We were so excited that day that we stayed on the field and shot around for a little. After realizing that we wanting to play for team we went and purchase our equipment. I felt that I joining the lacrosse team was my way of becoming a part of Buffalo State. I am proud that I made the decision to become part of the lacrosse family. It has been an amazing journey being with them. They have been like my brothers. Especially when traveling on the road to games you build up a relationship with your team mates. Although we might not agree on everything when it comes down to it we work and play as a team. We stand together and we help each other when one is down. What I really grew to like was how they make sure that we have our school work together. Because education is the most important part to coming to college. I felt like I made the right choice because although it is nice to play sports they know that before you can do certain things you have to have your priorities together. I finally found a place where I feel that I fit in. And I am glad to have friends with me for the ride. Thanks for reading my fellow bloggers.

My Reason. Animal Abuse

This week we are able to write about anything. I would like to talk more about my project, and why I feel that it is such an important topic to speak about. My main reason for choosing animal abuse as my topic to write about is because when I was younger i watch my neighbor abuse his dogs every single day. When ever i would come outside and his dogs would bark or if they did not eat he would kick them, throw them and put scars on their body. At such a young age I really did not understand what was going on. All i understood was that they would cry every time he hit them. As I grew older I realize that what he was doing was not right. This made me curious to find out why he was doing what he do. I ask my mother why he beats up the dogs like that. She simply reply some people just don't have any sense. This spark my thinking to animal abuse. So when my teacher told me to pick a topic I already had animal abuse in mind. i just need to find the right way to talk about it. When i was doing my first project for cwp102 and she said that all we had to do is find pictures I was like that's so easy but when I looked into thing I found that with a lot of animal abuse people use the same old pictures. I wanted to be different. So i looked up articles and took picture off of websites so that I could have background information to what was going on in the picture. To me this was not just a project it was sort of a way for me to let out things that bother me when I was a kid. And with going into project 2 I am hoping to go further into my topic and find out why animal abuse has to occur. This went from being a class project to me looking all over the web, finding different sites to help me understand and hopefully explain to my class why everywhere we look there is some sort of animal abuse. This blog was a way for me to express my feelings and to give you the background to why I have chosen to use this topic. All I want is for animals to live a better life. And we are the people who can make that happen. STOP ANIMAL ABUSE!!!!

As I went through these topics I saw many thing that I feel needed to be added to  mine to make it an amazing project. There are a lot of ideas being express through these projects. I greatly enjoyed reading other people blogs and finding out why the might have choose what they did. I hope that with me doing this I will be able to understand my topic more where I can get more into it. I have a far way to go but with the feedback and from what I have seen I have a clue to what is required and what I will need to look for in my topic animal abuse. Hopefully I am able to gather information as well as they have.

I am not going to give away the full title of my project! However, my topic of choice is depression. I choose to right about depression because there’s a stigma that surrounds victims of depression and I want to educate my peers on what depression really is and how it affects us all. When I first learned about depression I was one of many who said, “How can you be sad for so long that you can’t function”, “it’s just an excuse to not get over something, just move on.” Those where some of the statements used by myself and others who didn’t understand depression. As I got older I started to encounter people with ‘clinical’ depression, meaning they were actually diagnosed and given treatment for their depression. Through my encounter with such wonderful people who had no complete control over what was happening to them, I realized that I needed to understand depression. I needed to understand it so that I can explain it to myself and others every day; I needed to be part of the solution and not the problem. I am an aspiring Cardiologist and anything that affects the heart, mind and body is of great concern to me so it’s my duty to conduct such research and seek a solution/cure. Depression has yet to be officially labeled as something other than an ‘emotional disorder’ but the truth is depression is a neurological abnormality. It stems from the brain, the physical and measurable cause of depression has to do with a dysfunction in your neurotransmitters (NT). Our ‘normal’ neurotransmitters are deigned to pass on signals and substances that help us function but for someone with depression, your NT just doesn’t work correctly. The ‘feel good’ signal/substance in your brain is not being transmitted correctly and therefore you don’t feel good at all. Sometimes you may have thoughts of suicide even when watching your favorite movie. Interesting right, however, ‘the real research is finding out what is causing the ‘feel good’ signal/substance from being transmitted?’ This project has become very personal and I intend to continue my research and enlightenment on this matter after this project is completed. Depression is not a joke, it is not a phase that you can just get over, and if you are someone suffering form depression; please seek help.

When reading your blog I felt like I was being taught. You gave a great explanation to why you choose depression. With being in your field you have the resources to find out more. I feel that you should really look more into it. You should have know problem helping us to understand it. You are a great writer. And from what I see you have everything together. All you have to do now is put all the parts together and you will have your project. I hope to see more on your topic. I know it will be very interesting.

Project 1

If I had to guess my project’s issue is very different from everyone else’s. I have chosen to research about animals in captivity, so more specifically how animals in zoos and in marine parks get treated. You hear endless things about animal activists trying to put an end to sea worlds and showing awful pictures all over the internet of animals being neglected in these parks, is this what happens in every area? And is this inhumane of us to keep these animals locked up in cages for us to view as pleasure. I have been researching many points of this not just the negative, even though I do believe the negative out weigh the positive by quite a lot. I have looked into if animals being in captivity is educational or beneficial to the human race, also if zoos and marine parks are trying to help save animals or just doing it to make a profit. Because there are many animal conservations that are nonprofit, and only goal is to save an animal species. I also have checked how healthy the animals usually are in captivity and how long they usually live, there mental health is usually very poor as ours would be if we were locked in a cage all day in a pretend environment. And their physical health is worse than how it would be if they were in the wild, they do not get as much exercise being locked up. Elephants walk up to 50 miles a day out in the wild and in a cage and they hardly have room in move back and forth. This messes up how they are taught to survive and how their brain functions. Which is why we see so much depression in these animals and so much fatality and sickness. Another factor is the animal trainers and vets who work in these zoos and marine parks, do they really want what’s best for the animals? They are there to make a profit as a lot of us would and they are there to study the animals. But these wild animals are not acting as they would in their natural environment right? So they are not benefiting the researchers and trainers in zoos or the civilians trying to view them. To really learn these animals and see their real beauty we need to let them be in the wild, help preserve their habitat if need be but they can survive on their own. I myself have gone to plenty of zoos and aquariums all over the country, because I love animals and I felt as if this was my way to learn more about them. But in all reality it is not, I was trying to learn about animals that were forced into this pretend habitat and who act nothing like they would in the wild, they are only hurting the animals who live in there.

Your topic is very close to mines. My topic is animal abuse. I never really thought about animals in captivity being animal abuse. You open my eyes to a new part in my research. I can see that you are a animal person. The way that you go into depth with your topic is amazing. many thing that you wrote about I had no idea about. Like animals in captivity being under weight. How they don't eat properly. Your topic is very interesting to me I feel that when you speak I am relating to what you are saying because our topics are connected in a way.

Every day thousands of kids wake up afraid to go to school. Bullying is a problem that affects millions of students, and it has everyone worried, not just the kids on its but teachers, and other adults are affected to, they may not understand how extreme bullying can get.Bullying is when a person is picked on over and over again by an individual or group with more power, either in terms of physical strength or social standing.Two of the main reasons people are bullied are because of appearance and social status. Bullies pick on the people they think don’t fit in, maybe because of how they look, how they act for example shy kids and kids that are different. Some bullies attack their targets physically, which can mean anything from shoving or tripping to punching or hitting, or even sexual assault. Others use psychological control or verbal insults to put themselves in charge. For example, people in popular groups or cliques often bully people they categorize as different by excluding them or gossiping about them (psychological bullying). They may also taunt or tease their targets (verbal bullying Verbal bullying. My project would be be about what the bully and the bully victim goes through because their are real reasons why bullies bully, in eschooltoday.com research shows that kids bully because People can direct frustrations, hurt, anger and difficulty at home or in class  by bullying.Lack of attention from friends, parents or teachers can make a person bully you, just to feel popular and seen as ‘tough’ or ‘cool’ and in charge.bullies point Some kids have learned bullying from others (parents, brothers or sisters, friends).They have seen them getting their way by being angry or pushing other people around. This is a great topic. There is so much to be discuss with bullying. You have hit so many key points in this writing. I hope that you are able to dig deeper in finding out more about bullying. That topic is one that I feel everyone knows about but no one wants to talk about it due to what it is about. I am personally against bullying. I don't see the reason why one person should attack another because they are having problems. Everything said in this blog was perfect the way you explain everything gave me so much insight to bullying and help me to understand what it truly is.

Animal Abuse

The topic I will be making my project about is Animal Abuse. The reason I have chosen to use this topic is because I feel that we do not discuss animal abuse as much as we should. The definition of animal abuse is the human infliction of suffering of harm upon any non-human animal, for purpose other than self-defense or survival. Animal abuse happens all over the world. In many places they abuse animals for people enjoyment. Which to me is not right. I feel that with me doing this topic I can hopefully find or at least understand why people harm animals. Many people do not understand how many ways animals are being abused. Animal abuse consist of being beating, shooting or stabbing animals, or setting them on fire. Also neglect is not giving an animal necessary food, water, shelter, or vet care. Many people including myself have no idea to what animal abuse really is. It has taken me looking up thing on the internet to truly have an understanding to animal abuse. This topic I understand can be very hard to understand. I am really looking forward to finding my focus in this topic. You can come from many directions in this topic. I personally want to come from the view of animal abuse in the United States and how it affects us. One things that I found out is that animal abuse are usually committed by males under the age of 30. Also the animals that get mostly abuse are dogs, cats, horses, and livestock. These are just some of the things that I found. As you can see animal abuse is something major in our society especially. Where I grew up would see a lot of people abuse there animal some were my friends. When I was young I did not pay attention what I saw. But as I have grown I have come more visual to the things around me. This has to stop. We can no longer let the world go on like this. Animal Abuse should not be tolerated anywhere around the world. If we see something, say something. One person can cause a change reaction. That is all we need to make a difference in this world. I’m willing to fight for what I believe in. Many back down to the challenge. I’m stepping into it head first and hoping for the best. LET’S STOP ANIMAL ABUSE!!!!

This is because I don't like being wrong. I also like playing basketball. Hey other bloggers! I am new to the blogging world, it’s safe to say I’ve never been on this site before! Here’s a little bit about me (which I never know what to say) but I’m a jr already getting my bachelors hopefully this semester then getting my masters in radiology. Now that the school stuff is out of the way, on my free time when I’m not at school or at work, I TRY to have a social life and go out and do fun things such as hang out with friends and, I’m a big football fan so yes I do go to a lot of football games and, football parties. Outside of all those fun things to wind down I actually do like to read and write so this English class should be fun hopefully. I like researching and learning new things on topics recent or things that happen in the past, and this class seems like it will do that so I guess I’m in the right course because the topics we talked about in our discussion in class interested me so here’s to a fun semester! 😏looking forward to reading the fellow class mates blogs also, probably will be way better than this one.

With this being my first blog I as a little nervous. Not knowing how people would react to what I would say. I find it cool that you are a jr on there way to there bachelors. This show your passion for what you want to be. I wish I could have my life set the way yours is. To know that this is what you want to be is a big step in growing up. Always I like that through everything that you do you still find time for yourself. Which to me is a good way to relieve any stress or problems that you might face while at work or at school. I wish that I could get my life together like that.

Aren’t we supposed to feel safe?

I would think that everyone has heard about or at least have gotten an email concerning what has been going on campus. Isn’t it scary? Well it’s terrifying to me especially. Being away from home is tough enough but now were on campus away from our families by our selves and we expect to feel safe in our “new home.” But are we really? How is it that we feel scared to walk back to our dorms and fear what could happen to us when were on campus. One of the incidents that occurred happen to be right in front of my building, that’s what scares me the most honestly. The place where I’m supposed to feel safe, my “home,” I don’t because people decided to be foolish.  Many people are arguing about who’s “fault” it basically is and what people fail to see is it’s the people who actually did it not the UPD or RA’s. How can it be their fault honestly? Yes they’re ways we can secure this school more and try and make it a safer campus but it’s not their fault that these incidents occurred.  Another problem that people are addressing is that they are blaming “city kids.” Now how can you blame this on a group up people implying that because they’re from the city it’s there fault because they are the ones doing these crimes. Why are people targeting one type of group of people? We are arguing and blaming the wrong people and many of us don’t realize that. I would hope that our campus would be a safer place but we also fail to realize that this is the real world now, we are adults, and crimes are going to occur. It’s sad that they have to happen right here on campus but this isn’t high school where were watched all day by adults. There is more freedom here and that’s why people are doing these things because no one is watching them all day, its something that is difficult to stop from happening. But what we can do is put more cameras and security up because if these incidents do occur at least we can catch them. If people are being caught then less people will stop committing this crimes or actions because they know they’re going to get caught, its common sense really.

This is very true because with all the crimes that have been going on in the school we should never blame or argue with each other. That never helps the situation. Instead of us coming together we accuse or complain. What good is that going to do for us. We really need to take action so that this sort of stuff wont happen again. Im not saying that this is our fault because they do need more cameras around campus like you said. Because when we walk around late at night especially by yourself you want to know that if you are by yourself at least you know that the will have a chance of catch the person you committed the crime.

Dear Future Generations of Society, Here is Your Royal Tea of College 101

I have some royal tea on a topic about College 101. I know sometimes this topic can be a bit cliché, but there is a lot that people forget to talk about before entering your prestige institution like textbook charges, where you can get a deferment through your student accounts and they can add your textbook charges to your account so you can pay it off later. This was something that I just learned about this year, where it can be used in handy especially when you have those professors that wants you to buy the textbook that they made. I know when you are getting ready to send out your applications some of your love ones are asking are you sure you want to leave? Or are you sure you want to leave that far? Please understand that if you are 8 hrs away mommy and daddy are not going to rush and get you when you need help, some things you just have to advocate for yourself and that can be the hardest thing you can ever do as a freshman. Speaking about advocating for you make sure you read your billing account almost every day during the first 6 weeks of your academic life, because a lot of departments would add fees without you ever knowing till the last minute. Like the BENGAL OFFICE at BSC! Until the whole campus starts to complain and gets into contact with executive office to investigate the problem for things to restored in order. Now for the fun part of this College 101 Topic make sure you check on your professors in the department you are interested in majoring in. Cause some of these professors were not meant to teach like the Chemistry department, as I clear my throat, some of these professors are honestly just made to do strictly research especially within the science department, so please make sure you read the ratings in those departments in those institutions that you are interested in before you go and be lost in Chemistry 101. To move this right along make sure you pay attention to your grades because the new AP aka Academic Prohibition can be a real bitch! Especially when you try and do everything to keep your grades as high as possible and you just can’t get it take advantage of Pass/Fail and Withdrawal just not too much of finical aid will be on your back a lot. Just remember you are here to have fun so take advantage of the fun and get involved in the gym and the after class activities, the school is charging a good amount of money for it so at lease get involve and have a lot of fun cause it is just only 4 years so make the best of it. And that’s your cup of Royal Sweet Tea.

This is all true because when I came here in my freshmen year there were a lot of this that I was not informed about. Coming here was a big stepping stone for me. Especially with dealing with financial aid they always have some sort of excuse for why things are the way that they are. One thing is for sure with coming to college you are on your own. There is no more mom this or that. The way to succeed is by pushing yourself. No one is going to do the work for you. College is a transition from being a kid to becoming an adult.

My Goals For The Future

There are a lot of things I want to achieve during my lifetime. I have many goals that I have yet to complete. Some of my goals will be completed within my time in college. One goal that I am hoping to achieve is my college diploma. Receiving my college diploma is the most important thing to me right now. I know that it is not easy task to complete. But with a strong head on my shoulder and the guidance of the people around me I should have no problem accomplishing it. To reach my goal I have to focus on my school work, and understand truly why I am up here in college. Yes there will be times where you want to hang out with your friends but you have to have your priorities straight.

Another goal that I hope to fulfill is becoming a lawyer. Every since I was young I knew that I wanted to do something within the law area. When I got into my senior year of highschool I realized that what I wanted to be is a lawyer. I love the idea of fight for someone's innocents. The purpose of being a lawyer is to protect the people who are being wrongly accuse. And I think that I will do a great job as lawyer. Becoming a lawyer is one of the hardest things to do. Passing the bar is said to be one of the hardest test. I sometimes get nervous just thinking about entering that field but I know that if i want to becoming a lawyer i am going to have to suck it up and hope for success.

My final goal is to have a family. I hope to have a family within the next 10 years. This is deeply important to me because I want to be able to share my life with the people who love me the most. That includes my wife and kids. I want to know that I have the support needed to achieve my goals. As well I want them to feel that I will be there for them whenever they need me. I’m not in a rush right now for a family but when it is time I hope that I will be able to find the right person to spend the rest of my life with. These are my goals for the future.

U understanding ME

I am a sophomore in college, my major is criminal justice. As far as communicating I sometimes struggle speaking out because I don’t want to say the wrong answer so I keep quiet. Plus I always second guess myself because I don’t feel that what I might write down will be good enough. This blog is a way for me to express my opinion on certain things that are going on in my life as well as in my society. I’m using this as a place to show people some of the things that I feel are important to not just me but to everybody.

           Some things that I like to do for fun is play basketball. It relieves so much stress, and helps me to get things off my mind that are bothering me. Another thing that I love doing is hanging out with my friends because I feel that when I am around my friends things seems to work out for the best and we have a good time joking around and just being around each other. What I would like to get out of this class is the understanding of how to actually prepare myself for the long road ahead. Some goals for writing are being able to communicate with others. Form ideas which you can discuss and argue about. And you can interact with the people that you are teaching which will make them feel more welcome and help them to open up more to you.

           The way I plan on reaching my goals is pushing myself to be the best. I want to build myself up in a way where I do not struggle in writing or in my everyday life. I want the ability to create things that people would not even think of. I really hope that with using this blog I can build something in which people from all over can view it and hopefully respond to what I have posted. This will be my way of communicating with people and finding out some of their ideas as well as lending a helping hand to the people who may not have the ability to speak for themselves.

           Throughout this blog I hope to learn something about everybody. Because the only way to really know someone is to first get to understand who they are as a person. This should be a great opportunity to meet people with the same interest as me.
