Anyone else have mixed feelings about Muny Newsies?

On one hand YAY NEWSIESSSSSSS

On the other, why are they all in the same clothes? Costume variation where? Set? Hello? It’s giving high budget community theatre and not professional. For evidence let me show you the Muny’s previous set work

And they couldn’t do more platforms? Or at least make the one they have bigger? It’s so tiny and sad looking. I get this isn’t a Broadway theatre but look at their previous work. I’ve seen pics of high school Newsies productions that have better costumes. Why can’t the professionals do that too?

There set is based on projection work which I HATE in theatre because I did not pay to see a live show just for you to use screens that aren’t screens in the show’s lore.

All I am asking is at least let some be without the vest. I swear in every pic I see it’s undershirt and vest in varying colors. No personality just copy paste. Jack matches a background Newsie. If I showed you a character you wouldn’t be able to tell me who it is, there is no distinction

The outsiders book vs musical is so funny introducing johnny cause in the musical its like "thats my best friend in the whole world!" and in the book it's like "johnny is basically like if you took a kicked traumatized puppy and made it into a person"

I think as a fandom we should go back to less ship centric fics. Let the newsies be friends, write about brotherhood. It’s becoming a niche topic in a fandom where it’s the basis of the story. If the newsies weren’t family they wouldn’t work together like they did

I looked at Newsies’ casting and uh…there are a lot of Davids everything comes back to David. Below is my insane proof which can also be considered a very incoherent run down of the cast which will leave you more confused then when you started.

David plays David and David is a camera operator and David plays Ike and David is played by Ben and Race is also played by Ben. But don’t confuse David with Daniel who plays Scab but not Snyder who is a scab, he is played by James. Who isn’t Jack, Jack plays Darcy and Jack is played by Jeremy not Jordan he plays Specs. Don’t get him confused with Spot who is played by Tommy, Tommy is played by Michael. Mike is played by Jacob, Jacobi is played by John so is Weisel, not Willie he is played by Andrew and Andrew plays Crutchie. Andrew is not Anthony, he plays Elmer and Anthony plays Delaney and Devin also plays Morris Delaney. Morris is not Mush he is played by Nicholas not Nico he plays Romeo not to be confused with Rios who’s name is Michael. Michael plays the mayor, not Meredith who plays a nun. The nun is also played by Beth and Kaitlyn, not Katherine who is played by Kara Lindsay. Not to be confused with Les who is played by Ethan Steiner not Steve who plays Joseph not to be confused with Joshua who plays Jojo who is not J.P Ferreri not Flahery who plays Albert. Who is not Andy who plays Kid Blink who is young but not Young and is not Smalls who is played by DeGuzman not De Haas, who shouldn’t be confused with Hernandez who’s first name is Stephen. Stephen is close to stage manager but that is Bill who plays Bunsen not Buttons he is played by Chaz. Which is close to Seitz but he is played by Mark not Mahlum who plays the cop who works for Governor Rosevelt who is played by Kevin Carolan not to be confused with Crutchie who is played by Andrew and Willie not Weisel, who is played by John so is Jacobi not Jacob who plays Mike not David Jacobs who is played by David
