Why don’t you like gender shirts for children? What’s a gender shirt anyways
(For anyone else that’s reading this, anon is talking about a comment I had made on someone else’s post)
I guess I definitely could’ve found a better way to describe them. It’s like those boys/girls shirts that you see little kids wearing. Sometimes(or a lot of the time) they tend to play into gender stereotypes(which of course, is popular so I get it).
An example of some girly shirts I saw was one that said “I hate my thighs” or one that said “Future wife”.
For the boy shirts, those were usually okay, but one I saw said “Chicks are all over me”(definitely not something you should be putting on your five year old) and another that said “Sorry ladies, I only date models”.
Zoey and Mira have decided to take Alien!Rumi to the pool for the first time! Zoey is near the lawn chairs, setting things up for Mira while she takes Rumi to the showers. She turns her head to see Mira inching Rumi towards her out of the corner of her eye.
Mira, trying and somewhat failing to hold back laughter for some reason as she pushes Rumi towards Zoey: Go ahead, Rumi, ask her.
Rumi walks up to Zoey, an adorably hopeful look on her face that tells Zoey that there is something new that she wants to learn, and Zoey has once again been blessed with the privilege of teaching her.
Rumi: Hey, Zoey, could you teach me how to do doggystyle?
You could practically see when Zoey’s brain absolutely buffers. All she can say in response is a weak and embarrassingly breathy “Huh???”
Rumi, none the wiser, while Mira laughs her ass off in the background: Earlier you had mentioned teaching me how to swim while we were here? It’s okay if you don’t want to—we just got here and you probably want to have fun first—
Zoey, once she recovers from her brief heart attack: Oh, you meant the doggypaddle. Okay, yeah—god—yeah, I can… help you learn to swim.
Zoey leads a beaming Rumi to the pool, walks by Mira, giving her a glare that only seems to make her laugh harder: I will get you for this…

Celine and Mi‑yeong were children of Krypton, never meant to cross paths, never meant to love each other, and yet they did. They tied their lives together against their families’ wishes and left their world behind to chase the stars. Somewhere out there, between constellations, they welcomed their daughter. They laughed, they cried, they lived. They built a home they could only dream of on Krypton.
But Krypton was gone. Devoured by greed and shortsightedness. Rumi would never know her ancestral planet. She would always be a tree without roots.
A small price for the survival of her and her mothers.
But space is a dark place. Their ship was attacked, and even though they had fought pirates before and won, the damage was too much. Celine set a course for a planet with a yellow sun, but it did not matter. Mi‑yeong’s last breath came too soon.
Grief swallowed everything. Their home was gone, her beloved was gone. Celine carried Rumi to Earth, settled on this strange planet full of strange beings, and tried to build a quiet life. Rumi went to school and even though human knowledge could not compare to Kryptonian, she found an energetic friend who brought something new into their lives. Or maybe something they had forgotten.
Years passed. High school faded. Rumi joined Celine in her workshop while studying aerospace engineering. Zoey chose music. Their paths drifted apart but their bond only grew stronger. Celine liked this peaceful life and even though a part of her died with Mi‑yeong, she felt alive.
Until Rumi, her mother’s daughter, decided she wanted to help those who could not protect themselves. Celine tried to stop her, but when she realized Rumi would do it anyway, she chose to help. At least she could keep her child safe.
Zoey helped however she could, and Celine was endlessly grateful. The problem began when Kang Mira arrived, daughter of a family with far too many skeletons in their closets. Suddenly both Rumi and Zoey lost every grain of common sense. Was Celine just as foolish when she fell for Mi‑yeong? Maybe, with Min‑ji Song stepping into her life, she will remember those long‑buried feelings. Maybe her heart will beat again.
RuMira in every single Polytrix fic when Zoey briefly goes to America to visit family without them: The shadows are creeping in… unending sadness… the silence is deafening… what’s the point in living anymore…
RuMira the millisecond Zoey comes back: OMG ZOEY HI!!! WELCOME BACK!!! Now take off your pants WE MISSED YOU SO MUCH!!! :D
Because of your cat Rumi art for “would you still love me if I was a cat” I read the fic and I just want to thank you for introducing me to my new favorite fic! Your art for it is so fun and cute which made me check it out. I love pumpkin spice latte Rumi (and her emotional support little mouse) and I think you captured the scenes you chose really well. All of your additional memes made me laugh too, those three are just so silly together and I kinda wished the Zoey holding Rumi up to the security camera was canon lol. All this to say thank you for the great art that introduced me to a great fic, I can’t wait to see more of what you draw in the future!

Totally not using this ask as an excuse to rant more about this AU And so do Mira and Zoey!
I like to think that Zoey gave Alien!Rumi one of her notebooks because she noticed how much Rumi likes to ask her questions about humans, their behaviors, their planet—everything.
Zoey was more than happy to answer any questions Rumi threw at her(she told Rumi this herself after explaining that “fire away” is an expression, not permission to actually start blasting). So whenever she sees Rumi walk up to her with her notebook Zoey knows that she’s in a for a good, long, discussion about whatever new thing has plagued Rumi’s interest.
Imagine Zoey explaining to Rumi how different relationships work, or the many, MANY aspects of the LGBT community. She’ll doodle little turtles in Rumi’s notebook while sharing different facts. Rumi wants to know what a kiss is? Zoey’s got it covered(And what if Rumi asks if she could try it on Zoey???).
At some point Zoey will apologize for going off topic during one of her tangents—especially if it’s another thing that Rumi doesn’t understand, but Rumi doesn’t mind. That just gives her another interesting thing to talk to Zoey about. She loves listening to Zoey. And Zoey definitely doesn’t cry or anything about the fact that she now has two amazing people who actually listen to her. Nope. No siree.
(Rumi occasionally goes to Mira as well—Mira usually sends Rumi to Zoey if she can’t figure out how to explain things, which happens pretty often. She doesn’t want to push her away. She just doesn’t know what to say. But when she does know how to explain something, like how their pets aren’t actually their babies, or different habits that Rumi and Zoey have but never noticed, or anything kitchen related, Mira very nonchalantly answers and totally isn’t super happy to be the reason Rumi smiles while adding new notes to her notebook)
