I got a very warm smile and hug from her. Mrs Grace Alexander, a go getter mom and advocate for persons with disabilities, the pioneer of the Initiative championed the cause on Entrepreneurship for Women with Disabilities, also standing beside my mom is an amazing mother, Dr. Fila Rogers a BOT @morainbow_downsyndrome . This is an important aspect of inclusion as i grow into a woman who is unstoppable because i know my rights. Thank you always for the opportunity ma. Have you registered my Portharc people? Have you heard about this upcoming event. It's geared towards creating awareness, raising funds to improve the lives of persons with DS. Moyinoluwa Rainbow Foundation is an NGO that caters to the needs of persons with Down Syndrome and other intellectual disabilities in Nigeria. The NGO is involved with Grassroot awareness, adoption of children from indigent homes, to give them another chance at life, taking them off the streets to attend school, giving free consultation and footing bills for them to make it to school. Its tuition free but they need so much more support to help them get to the level of independence. So guys, we need you to make this rock while you have fun with these bunch of fun loving, awesome and artistic #cakemagicians. If we are treated equally from the time we are babies by our families, societies, education systems, medical care providers, and governments, we can graduate from high school, graduate from college, find careers, become entrepreneurs, get married, have children, and more. Just like people without Down syndrome can have other disabilities, mental disorders, or traumas that make it harder for them to achieve the above, people with Down syndrome can have those too along with having Down syndrome. Can i like this post forever?????? I've really enjoyed the teachings /trainings from @open_future_learning. It would shift your minds if you are trying to imagine it's a horrible life with Ds pr any dis...ability. It can never be....my daughter glows and she is always loving up on all that i love...she's fierce, gives others hope and fighter in the face of fear and injustice. Sadly, some still think people with DS think like kids or will never grow up to be able to make decisions or add value to their communities. Sadly still, some think they will always have the brain of a child not respecting that they have equal rights as everyone. I'm not upset, i am simply saying this post should be shared a million times over. Do i have my country people read this post???? I cherish you ma @funmibabingtonashaye , a phenomenal mentor who is all shades of gracious, bold, thoughtful and loving. Doris Orumwese...you are just making me cry now..😭😭. Over a decade and about seven years ( to the best of my knowledge) , you have become a woman of many talents and great value. Kudos again on discovering your strength and essence and impacting many lives too. I have had no moment of regret since 2014 when i decided to embark on this mission. This show of love is another reminder that God moves mountains. This is pure love , touching the deepest part of my heart and i deeply appreciate you and your team for being volunteer advocates and for raising awareness and funds to continue to improve the lives of persons with Ds. This is not about impossibility even when all odds are against you on that mountain. Been on that mountain for too long, yet you serve a God that moves mountains and causes walls to fall.. Conversation on the mountain goes thus: Mountain mover: I see your pain, it looks greater than your faith. Me: Yes Lord, i want to see your hand move this mountain. I believe in you, the God of miracles. Mountain mover: This mountain will move, learn on this mountain for a little while.....( i began to teach others what i learnt from the mountain while still on the mountain with no solution in sight) Me: I will wait patiently Lord, though it seems like forever Mountain mover: What if i say jump from this mountain top? Me: Very excited , shutting away all negative thoughts , noises and distraction...I'm ready to jump Lord. I made up my mind to see faith instead of fear. To bear up under trials, we must trust in the sovereign goodness of God in every situation. A lot of times, we only agree to see God's goodness in tbe blessings of life; i mean the good things life has to offer, the positives, tbe gains, gifts and every thing beautiful. The truth is life will sometimes present us with trials. Enduring trials, make our faith stronger, as we keep vigils trusting and hoping in God. It's a beautiful feeling to experience victory at last. Victory from hurt, pain, anger, not minding how people judge you, even those that know nothing about you or where you're coming from.... you can have victory from negative words that were said to you. Some may laugh with you today and laugh at you tomorrow. DRESS UP MESS UP SEASON 3.0. We've had so much to do and eat these past four days.
