No but Herbert “what was it about Meg you liked?” guessing (apparently correctly) it was her heart—so what, her kindness, the essence of her, her personality?(the body doesn’t matter)—Dan saying “it’s Meg” when it’s so clearly not Meg. The body doesn’t matter. Also he’s cooked. He just wants her back. Her heart. and Dan explicitly rejecting the Bride’s body once he finally realizes it’s not her. The only part of Herbert’s body he likely values is his brain. But Dan isn’t interested in that. It’s the heart he wants. What if Herbert put Meg’s heart in himself. Would Dan love him? Would it fix him? Make him lovable? Or would he still be rejected? Does the body matter? What would Herbert have to do to make Dan love him?
