Shoutout to April 2026 for giving us The Daleks Master Plan missing episodes release, a Gallifrey War Room 3 release date, and a Lungbarrow sequel, a true trifecta of "what do you mean THAT happened???"
A collection of quotes I kept from math/stat profs during a particularily wild semester
"Santa Claus is a lie"
"You don't need to pay for [the textbook] I'm not friends with the author"
"If you are yelling at each other over a blackboard you will make me happy"
"Some of you want to be here, some of you have to be here"
"You don't even need God to create the natural numbers"
"People Expire"
"I once heard students say "[our prof] is super smart but can't teach", I hope by the end of the course you'll say "that guy isn't super smart but that dumb dyslexic son of a bitch sure can teach""
"As a mathematician, you get paid to essentially do nothing. You're like a STEM politician"
"How many math kids are there? They should buy you some fucking white boards"
"Why do I keep finding naked babies everywhere?"
"You don't have space in your brain to memorize something so stupid"
"This is what physicists do, we don't do that shit"
"This was peak caffeine when I solved this "
"There was no point to this story I've just had a lot of caffeine"
"Do you know what we're doing in this course? Do you know what we're studying?"
"If this building caught on fire we'd all die together. Cheers!"
"Why are we celebrating Jesus' death?"
"I almost did math in blood my first day in here"
"Galois Theory made me cry on February 8, 2012"
"Otherwise you'd have to think with your brain, and that's no fun"
"Does anyone else schedule their mental breakdowns?"
Happy Gallifrey War Room 3 day to all who celebrate!!! While I haven't listened to the audios myself, I follow a lot of people who do, and thus have a really warped outsider perspective on a lot of the characters. Coming from said perspective, I wish you all a:
Narvin is tortured and/or whimpers like a dog (affectionate)
Veklin is tortured and/or whimpers like a dog (affectionate)
Brax is tortured and/or whimpers like a dog (derogatory)
Rassilon is tortured and/or whimpers like a dog (derogatory)
Romana gets whatever she wants forever <3
Leela gets whatever she wants forever <3
I have had this post in the drafts for SO LONG but here are some ideas I would have should I become the showrunner for doctor who
Finish up the Susan storyline started in Interstellar Song Contest while we still have Carol Ann Ford with us
Do more stories centered around a non British/American culture. Story and the Engine was a highlight for me from series 15, and it was primarily because of the black culture featured. Whether it be another black-focused episode, or an episode focused on a culture not seen in episodes before (South Korea? Brazil?), I would love to see more
Bring back the master, and ideally have them be more of a serious, cunning villain. We've had (since 2005) manic masters in Simm and Dhawan, and a more redemptive master in Gomez, I think it could be interesting to go back to an almost Delgado Bond villain-esque master
Redeem Omega. No I am not over how he was treated in Reality War. Given that he was supposedly Like That because The Rani was expecting it, perhaps if someone else (the Master?) opened the gate to his dimension without that perception of Omega he could come back as a proper time lord
Experiment more with episode length. I think longer stories with an overarching plot that span multiple episodes while taking place in multiple time periods (Utopia -> Last of the Time Lords, Extremis -> Lie of the Land, Flux) are very cool and I would like to see more stories vary in length
Write at least one multi doctor story. I don't think it matters too much which doctors, I think any combination could be made interesting
Write at least one episode with really threatening daleks. Let's see a single dalek decimate an army the way we saw in Dalek or Resolution, or strike fear in the hearts of those who have faced them before as in The Stolen Earth
Write at least one episode that makes you ask "wtf just happened". Midnight, 73 Yards, that kind of vibe
And of course:
Give EVERYONE a sonic screwdriver. The doctor gets a new screwdriver, the master gets a new sonic laser. Fuck it, being Rassilon back and give HIM a sonic screwdriver. I LOVE sonic devices and the merchandising opportunities would be off the charts
Happy Pizzamas to all who celebrate, this now exists in the world
This is my MCR manifestation playlist for the B stage tonight
Sometimes you just have to look at the fireworks and know everything is going to be ok
