How do you guys usually go about deciding what to draw characters doing? I really struggle with figuring out what should be happening, even in a Standing There pose. I've had some commissioners give me really specific direction before (like Character Straightening Glasses While Holding X Item) and it was just like, "Ah, that looks so much better!"

Little things like that just don't come to me at all for some reason? Like, I can apparently draw them alright if given an idea, but I'm not great at thinking it up myself. Help?

okay so 1) what is Dangan Ronpa and 2) on a scale of ten to sobbing hysterically at you for four hours straight in the middle of the night how badly would it hurt if I were to read it?

1) It is an LP of a PSP game, translated by one person with screenshots. It is, essentially, Phoenix Wright meets Battle Royale...in other words, a mystery story wherein kids have to kill each other.

2) It reaches pretty high up there. Like, part of me screams TURN BACK NOW!!!! But to be honest, despite how much I cry, it's really good and we are constantly talking about normal high school au where everything is happy all the time. We JUST finished chapter 5 our of 6, and it's gotten some AMAZING twists so far.

also because it's really gross with a character's gender at one point (at a lot of points). That is honestly the only major thing that bugs us, honestly, but it's done a really good job of not being gross.

tl;dr it's really really good BUT it will destroy you entirely. if you read it you can join us in our terrible good-universe aus.
