Forelsket, sue me but miyako/akira - bri .
Forelsket (Norwegian): The indescribable euphoria experienced as you begin to fall in love.
Feeling relaxed around someone was definitely something new for her.
Since she was thirteen, she kept everyone at arm’s length, even her family. Sure, she laughed, she joked, she smiled, she teased her brothers but… It all seemed to go past the surface. She never wanted them to know her true feelings. She would never ask them to carry that knowledge and burden.
She didn’t want to become that burden.
And so, she pushed the people she felt she didn’t need away. It didn’t matter hoe nice or genuine they seemed, she didn’t feel like they were necessary. That friends weren’t necessary. The time for them had already passed.
Then, there was Akira fucking Kurusu.
He was so stubborn. So insistent. He simply wouldn’t take no for an answer. He reminded her a bit too much of herself in that way which made her even more stubborn and even more insistent that he stop trying. She didn’t want to be around him.
Not even a month later, she gave up. It was exhausting trying to compete so she caved. She just complained the entire time like her twin would. She found the complaining unappealing so surely he would, too.
She was wrong.
“Are you laughing?”She blinked. “What? No!”“Yes you were”“I was not!”“You’re still giggling”“I’m not!”“Yes you are!”
They both ended up laughing to the point it hurt her sides. She wanted to say she hated it, but she didn’t she couldn’t…
Then, one day, she just enjoyed being around him, whatever the reason. She picked up on the small mannerisms, learned to read his emotions better through his face, noticed more of the little things; the way his hair sat on his glasses, catching on to how he could steal things so quickly even though both of his hands were in his pockets, how he always reeked of coffee and old books.
He made her smile and he didn’t need to do anything other than... exist.
