IF YOU’RE LEARNING JAPANESE, PLS STOP SCROLLING !!!
this book is the best thing you will ever spend your money on.
it revolutionises the way to learn kanji so instead of having to write them out hundreds of times to memorise them, they are broken down into smaller shapes with individual meanings, and those meanings are tied together in the bigger kanji to create a story that helps you memorise what the whole, larger kanji is.
a few days ago i couldn’t even manage to learn twenty kanji. this evening i learned to write and memorised the meaning of 34.
if you can, pls buy the book. it’s a game changer.
Okay, so this is something I didn’t learn until like... yesterday; which means I’m sure there are tons of you out there just as in the dark as me!! You know those posts of 100+ free icons, or gif hunts longer than your screen? You don’t have to save those icons one by one. Instead, you can save the entire webpage in a matter of seconds!!
Below the cut is a detailed walkthrough of how to get all the icons from a tumblr post instantly, along with screenshots taken from my own blog.
Okay, so first you’re gonna open the post on the source blog -- not the dash. We’re gonna use my Rin icons as an example:
As soon as you have the page open, you’re going to click on the URL at the top and add /mobile to the end, like this:
This will get rid of the page’s theme and any extra clutter so that it doesn’t get saved along with the icons. It’s not a 100% mandatory step, but it will definitely save some time. The mobile page should look something like this:
Now we’re ready to save the page. Go to the three dot menu in the corner of Google Chrome, right beneath the red X. Drop down the menu and find SAVE PAGE AS. It might be in the More Tools tab, so just hover over things until you find the link you’re looking for!
OR, if you’re able to use Keyboard Shortcuts, Ctrl + S should save the page exactly the same.
Make sure when you save, the save type is ‘Webpage, Complete’. This will make sure you save everything open in the window.
The saved file will have two parts: a folder, and a chrome icon which is essentially just a link back to the page. We’re going to ignore the link and click open the folder.
Inside, there will be a lot more than just the icons. However, you can ignore all the other files an scroll down until you see your images. Select them and move them into a different folder, wherever you want to keep them saved. After they’re moved, you are free to delete the mother folder and link!
And that’s it!! This will take the time you’d spend saving icons one by one and reduce it to a matter of seconds. Please just remember to follow tumblr etiquette when using premade icons -- don’t forget to like or reblog the post you saved them from, and give credit where credit is needed.
smol resource for writers of rroma characters (or anyone interested in rromanes tbh). the university of manchester’s been working on the rromani language project for a while now, complete with a very helpful database of various dialects. i mean, it’s not a word for word dictionary, but it does give some sample phrases, and you can listen to the audio and see the transcription with a translation.
found this video while scrolling through youtube. it pointed me in the direction of the link below, so i figured i'd give credit where it's due since the book is not my own find.
