“What, exactly, would you say if I told you I have been in love with you since we were but children?” your lips shook in a cautious pout, eyes locked on his. a mischievous smile curled over william’s lips, his hand raising from his side to brush a lock or hair from your forehead.
“enough.” he practically sang, body leaning down to press a long kiss to the tip of your nose. “beautifully convincing performance, my doll. none other shall ever capture my heart in such ways as you have proven capable of.”
your soul burst in an explosive grin, fingers tangling in the fabrics of his shirt to feel his warmth.
“i did good, then?”
“splendidly.” he replied, his good eye alight with amusement as he praised your acting. whether or not you were particularly talented at acting, he couldn’t be sure, for he was so deeply in love with you that every breath was mesmerizing, every tear heartbreaking, every word a song of the most beautiful melody.
“if you ever were to wonder, i must say that no matter the lifetime or circumstance, i would love you again and again, in every life.” he crooned, pulled you into his arms to feel your heartbeat against his chest, smell the thick warmth of your sweet blood beneat your skin. “just as i am now.”
