It had been days since there had been a lead. The attacks had stopped, with nary a bombing or mass shooting with the media presence of the ones the reds and blues had perpetrated. The Spartan had done what he could, retracing steps and reading through hundreds of pages of PFL reports. Communications logs, mission reports, and psych analyses had net him nothing. Anything that was left of the project was worthless to him, locked away in warehouses and containing no clues to the whereabouts of the reds and blues. Chorus continued to be unhelpful, unproductive, and if things didn’t change, invasion would occur.
So he went back to his only font of information. With agents Washington and Carolina inaccessible (and, frankly, likely in league with the simulation troopers) he was forced to revisit Texas. This time he was more calm, composed, buttoned up in an ill-fitting suit of black with a crisp white shirt underneath instead of his armor. He still had a weapon on him, of course, a handgun in a shoulder holster, but it wasn’t quite as threatening as full armor.
