dpxdc au where Danny, stuck as a forever teenager (16-18 looking range) in his human form, has to move around a lot. It's easier once he moves to another dimension, but he still has to move at least every half a year. sometimes sooner, depending on how suspicious the adults get of him. He has a wide range of talents, though, so he always gets work somewhere. At one point, he got work at a circus, contorting his body as he balanced on a tightrope or thin pole high above the ground. He was even given a bright white and black outfit that stood out against the colours of the others around him. He even took on a stage name: Ghost (not the most creative, but he panicked).
There was a kid at the circus, Ghost knew. Ghost and the kid's parents would often do dual-acts, and when he wasn't in a show that night, he would keep the kid company and point out different stars and constellations. He and the kid didn't have a strong friendship, but he did his best to comfort the kid when his parents died. A while after the kid left the circus, Danny discarded his Ghost persona and moved on to find work.
It was a decade or so later when he was passing through a big city (it was gross, and he couldn't see the stars, but he was out of money and needed to work for a bit) that he saw the same kid from the circus. He was an adult now, of course, but it was unmistakably him. Still in a bright outfit, still flipping from high up, still with a bright smile.
