wait I haven't actually shared the plot of this book, have I? sorry
in 2007 and 1953, a teenage daughter of a pastor and a repressed lesbian housewife respectively are part of a wealthy conservative Christian cult on the outskirts of Atlanta, Georgia. which is related to a ~natural wisewoman healer Goddess-worshipper~ witch and her daughter who escaped from Puritan witch hunters to the future site of the cult's town, in 1750
it's very Granddaughters of the Witches You Couldn't Burn(tm) and the research level for the historical parts is zilch, judging by the final text. I'm noping out to read Looking Backward by Edward Bellamy finally
(there weren't even Puritans in colonial Georgia! or very very few!)
if you want feminist historical fantasy about generations of witches, read the Physick Book of Deliverance Dane and its sequel, the Daughters of temperance Hobbs, instead
