𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐫? 𝐀𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐛𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝. Fairness was a fool’s hope, a myth peddled to those too naïve to know better. In his world, plans rarely faltered, and on the rare occasions they did, he would simply reframe the board, reroll the dice, and take the house for everything it had. The gambler is never far from his winnings -- and today was no different.

"Then it seems," Aventurine drawled, his tone rich and amused, "you and I are at an impasse."

It was not a threat, not truly. More an invitation - the beginning of a game he had already decided he would win. As Sampo had spoken, all dramatic flair and theatrics, Aventurine was already three moves ahead. A coin spun easily between his fingers, catching the light as it flipped once, twice, before he snatched it deftly on the third toss, his smile sharp and knowing.

"Or perhaps," he murmured, voice rich with quiet amusement, "you simply lack the vision to see beyond the surface."

There was a glint in his gaze, something lurking just beneath the polished surface, sharp and dangerous. Aventurine was a man who understood better than most — every player at the table had a tell, a weakness hidden somewhere between their bluffs and bravado. You only had to know where to look.

He was no novice at rolling dice in the dark. No, he was the house itself -- the dealer who smiled as he watched others stake their fortunes on unwinnable odds. Finding a man’s weakness was simply a matter of patience, reading the shuffle and turn of every card they played. And once he found it - and he always did - he would play it like a master gambler stacking the deck in his favour, watching with quiet satisfaction as the final hand fell exactly as he intended.

After all, the house always wins.

He let the coin fall silent against his palm, stepping forward with casual, deliberate ease. His arms opened wide to the scenery around them, as if he were a benevolent king offering a kingdom - or a stage magician daring his audience to see through the illusion.

"Look around you," he said, voice lilting with faint, mocking grandeur. "Strip it all away -- the glitter, the glamour, the comfortable lies we tell ourselves. What remains?"

He tilted his head slightly, studying Sampo as a man might study a puzzle he had already solved, the corners of his mouth curling in a smirk that was anything but kind. "Tell me, then," he murmured, voice low and coaxing, "would you still call any of it fair? Or would you finally see it for what it is - a game played by those clever enough to cheat, and win?"

7. What do they get up to on a night out?

Typical nights out include seeing a new movie the very night it comes out, (so that Cobra doesn’t have to deal with accidentally overhearing spoilers), and eating so much food it’s hard to walk after. Occasionally date nights are interrupted by some kind of other shenanigan, usually Natsu wanting to fight or something. They have no idea how he keeps finding them.

18. When they fight, how do they make up?

Gently, because neither is really good at admitting they’re in the wrong when things get to the point that they actually fight. Small acts of showing the other they’re sorry and that they care.

22. Where does their first kiss happen?

In a dark, quiet forest under a full moon. They had been enjoying the night.

23. Where is their favourite place to be together?

Alone in their house. Fuck other people. Sometimes the bed, sometimes the shower/bath.

24. Where do they first have sex?

At a hotel/inn. The first time is incredible… and destructive, because 2 dragons going at it isn’t exactly soft.

25. Why do they fight?

why would they fight when they love each other Misunderstanding and stubbornness. Words that should have been said, maybe some words that shouldn’t have been, maybe words that were taken the wrong way.

Dangerous secrets that should have been shared. Each has their own share of them, some more secret than others due to someone’s pointy magic ears.
