HEADCANON : NAMES

Childe : his chosen alias. his main preference. tied closely to the ‘mask’ he presents to the public as a carefree, easy going, friendly individual. when in doubt, call him this.

Tartaglia : his ‘official’ title. tied to his identity as a harbinger, and more a professional moniker than anything. will give this if asked for his “real” name. the closest he ties to who he truly is; powerful, ambitious, and angry. prefers to be called that as a show of respect or in more formal scenarios.

Ajax : his ‘secret’ name. tied directly to his past, his home, and his family. in a way, he’s detached from it, as it represents to him who his brother thinks he is, to the point it feels foreign when attached to him. gets antsy when called this, as he doesn’t want the name his family knows him by tied to his less palatable deeds in the fatui. do not call him this ever if you don’t want an arrow to your throat.

They’re confused when they find him.

He’s sitting on the ground, legs bent like he’d just crumpled in place, sword rusted to the point of cracking next to him ( where did he find that one? and where’s the one he left with? surely it can’t be the same one, even if it’s near identical. it’s only been three days since he left. )

his eyes are glazed over, wide spread and struck with horror as he stares into the empty woods. there’s nothing there, they tell him. whatever happened, you’re safe now.

he doesn’t answer, knowing the only words he’d speak are don’t leave me here again.

“you’re safe now” his family says. he won’t tell them that that’s the problem.

as you’d expect, chongyun is very in tune with the flow energy in the world, and how it interacts with living things and their spirits. and, again, as you’d expect, he can sense when something is different.

if something is off about your muse for some reason, he’s likely going to sense it. this isn’t me trying to godmod, because he’s not always going to know what exactly he’s sensing (and he’ll usually jump to assuming its ghost or demon related) but he will have some vague sense that something is amiss.
