||2|| Last Judgement
Still Young
As they carried on walking, a thought entered Sans’s skull, curious.
“...who’re your parents, kid?”
“P...parents...?” Doomsday looked at him, confused. “...umm...w-well...they both...look like me...I think?” He replied hesitantly “I...don’t really know...”
“Did one of them glitch like you?”
“G-glitch? Yeah...” He nodded, rubbing his cheek with his free hand. “And...and my other Pa had these...” He raised his tendrils a little “B-but those were black and...he’s got f...four...”
“Right...” Sans could only guess who his parents were, and it seemed rather obvious. One was Error, looking at Doomsday’s glitching, the odd lines on his right cheek.
The other was quite clearly Nightmare, due to his tendrils and ability to melt into a puddle, not to mention his sharp teeth. They had dumped the kid on Sans.
He pushed open the front door, letting Doomsday into his home, watching as he awkwardly sat down on the couch. Sans grimaced, shutting the door and sitting beside him, wanting to know more about him. His curiosity was spiked, and Doomsday only stared at him, anxious. He twitched and shuddered every so often, wishing to do something other than sit and wait around in silence.
“...you can call me Classic, if you wanna...seeing as you’re not from here...” Sans finally said, Doomsday glanced away, apprehensive.
“...c...can I just...call you Sans?”
“...sure...” He responded “...whatever makes you happy, kid.” Doomsday hummed, swinging his legs back and forth, a little more comfortable. “...how old are you?”
“Oh...um...I-I’m three months...I think...?”
“Fucking hell, you’re young, aren’t you?” He glanced back at him "...why'd they leave you?"
“...” He went quiet, melting into his hood slowly, his shoulders raising. “I...I don’t...know...” He hiccuped quietly “...they were...scared...?” Despite being three months old, he would be five years old in human time.
Not that five years had passed since he was born, but the growth rate of a magic skeleton is quicker than a human. He had only been alive for three months, and he was up to speed with the average five-year-old.
“Why’re the scared of you?”
“M...magic...”
“...too much magic...” Sans sighed “Look, y’know the fire guy from before?” He nodded, looking up at him. “He’s gonna come round and check your magic for you...then we can figure out why.”
“...okay...”
They didn’t speak for a while, waiting for Grillby to come by. The kid swung his feet back and forth endlessly, bored, twitching from time to time. Clearly, he wasn’t used to sitting around for long periods of time, which was to be expected.
Sans supposed the best way to deal with Doomsday’s pent up magic was for him to use his attacks on a couple of trees, away from civilization. For the time being, however, he waited with him, watching from the corner of his eyesocket as the kid shuffled around on the spot.
Out of nowhere, he pushed himself into Sans’s side, earning himself a flinch of surprise. He backed off immediately, sinking into his hoodie, listening to Sans sigh.
“...what’s up?”
“I-I...scared you...” He stammered, avoiding eye contact altogether.
“Nah...you didn’t scare me...I just didn’t think you’d wanna get that close.” Sans attempted to reassure him, noticing the kid sinking further away, visibly uncertain. “...it’s fine, kid...you don’t like sitting in one spot...I get it.”
“B-but--”
“M’not gonna hurt you...” He told him, not sure if he understood it though. If he was truly from Nightmare and Error, would they hurt him for doing something ‘wrong’? “Tell you what, kiddo...after Grillby’s gone, I’ll take you out...alright? Try and burn off some of your energy...”
“Th...that would be...nice...” He turned his head away, scared of Sans.
"...kid...d'you honestly think m'gonna hurt you?" He shuffled over to him, moving an arm around him carefully. He tensed up, Sans pulled his hood down, rubbing the top of his skull, trying to calm him down. "...c'mon...I ain't that scary, am I?" He grinned a bit, watching as his head twitched, pressing himself into Sans’s jacket. "See? M'a big cuddle monster..." He wrapped both of his arms around him, and he shuddered violently in response. "...did they hurt you?"
“N-no...” He murmured into him, digging his fingers into his jacket. “Th...they were nice...I-I just...don’t wanna...” He fell silent, whimpering.
“...” Sans stared at him “...’don’t wanna’ what?” He ran his hand up and down his spine, attempting to comfort him. “Kid?”
“I-I...you won’t...do that...r...right?”
“Look...I don’t know what you’re on about, alright? Just tell me...” And the kid began to sob, shaking uncontrollably, not saying a word. “...calm down...” It wasn’t long before Sans noticed the house beginning to tremble.
