Hey. We all know that using Britta as a figure head for the league’s conservativism right is to point out blatant support for conservatism and bigotry? And that every person no matter what team they are rooting for should be using those moment to support and uplift marginalized communities in the ways they are able to.
I literally don’t care about Britta Curl as a person. Regardless of anything else the way the cultural landscape moved she has become a symbol. (Which is just a thing that happens. Our brains do that.)
So when we are talking about Curl and bigotry in the league we are also talking about resources and actionable steps right? No matter what you think about her or the discourse you are doing things to talk about or combat the most toxic parts of hockey culture and give support to the communities most effect. Right?

Prompt 16 - Curl
@jeggyverses-jegulus-microfic March 16, Word count 445
Previous part First part
“Didn’t you hear me? Showers free,” he repeated, but James still didn’t move. “James?” He said a little louder, pushing the rant curl that had fallen into his eyes back into place. “Earth to James. Do I need to throw a boot at you?”
“Sorry, it’s just that I have nothing to change into, and it seemed silly to get showered only to put my dirty clothes back on,” James finally answered sheepishly. “I was actually going to go. By the time I’ve walked to the train station from here, it’ll only be a two-hour wait.”
Regulus could’ve slapped him.
“Get in the fucking shower, James. I’ll wash your clothes, and they’ll be dry by morning. You can borrow a pair of Barty’s underwear until then. He never wears them anyway. I’m pretty sure he has a few still with their tags on.”
“Oh, er, erm…” James spluttered, his cheeks darkening again. Regulus lost his train of thought for a moment as he watched the pink spread.
“James, it’s not a big deal,” Regulus told him, not understanding why he was getting all het up over nothing.
“What will your friends think when they come in, and I’m just in here in my underwear?”
“Then sleep in my room.”
James’s cheeks were redder than Regulus had seen them yet.
“Then where will you sleep?” He stammered, not looking up from his twisting hands.
“In my room. James, what’s the matter? I can bunk with Pan if it’s really going to be that much of an issue for you sleeping in the same room as another man,” Regulus glared at James, wondering if he’d misjudged the whale, and he was one of those guys. Regulus stopped himself from saying anything further as he thought of Sirius. James was his best friend, and Sirius wouldn’t put up with any of that shit. James was looking up at him with panic in his eyes.
“No, it’s not that. I don’t care about that. I’m best mates with Sirius. He spent most of the last five years in my bed. It’s not that,” he petered off, screwing his eyes shut, his whole body caving in on itself. “I like boys,” he whispered, keeping his head down. “I like boys and don’t want you to feel awkward about sharing a room with me,”
This was not what Regulus had been expecting. He knew he’d have to tread carefully here, as he could see how vulnerable this confession had made James feel.
“For fuck's sake, Potter, go take a fucking shower and let’s go to bed. I am so fucking tired, and all I want to do is go to sleep!"
