Oof it's so hard because I get it, like. Letting on that krokas was her son would expose the both of them. Bodyguard is a safer term for a dangerous world that is changing and making room for things like love and permanence and future. But who could have ever taught Fiedra any of that? Krokas isn't wrong, but how could fiedra comprehend a world where calling krokas her son - no, allowing herself to even experience that level of attachment in the first place - would be feasible? For either of them?
