He comes home stressed a lot and likes to relax with you and apologises often if he ever seems too stressed or overly obsessed with work.
Very protective of you, he feels as if you need protection 24/7. His protectiveness is a lot stronger when he is working on a stressful and packed case.
Can never say no to you, he loves seeing you smile so whatever you ask for, he grants. But he draws the line when it comes to anything remotely dangerous or reckless, he has strong morals. As he can’t talk about cases with people not involved, when you ask a question about it he simply changes the subject since he still can’t say no to you.
Strong sense of justice, he dislikes losing in arguments even if it’s over something stupid but he apologises afterwards for the ways he acts.
Great at reading body language, he can always tell when you are distressed or upset etc. Yet he denies that he is stressed a lot as he doesn’t want you to worry.
Loves dad jokes, always laughs at his own jokes even if no one else laughs.
Doesn’t take criticism very well.
Compliments you a lot, even for small things.
Loves to be the one that cooks and cleans, even if he doesn’t have much time after or before work, he tries to help around the house.
He doesn’t get jealous often, but he gets worried when you talk to someone new as he doesn’t trust them fully.
He gets excited over things very easily.
He tries to avoid smoking around you just in case, discourages you from ever starting to smoke and lectures you on the health risks.
Every evening when he gets home, he tells you a lot about his day, avoiding the parts he legally can’t say of course.
Teaches you how to use a gun just in case you ever need to defend yourself, probably even regularly buys you pepper spray.
Seeing as he works for police, you’d think he was good at hiding his facial expressions but it’s the opposite. When you two are in public and something happens he doesn’t like, his face will talk before he does.
