Alone, it was a feeling Roman was all too familiar with but as he has gotten older the one-night stands and liquor no longer quenched his thirst. The days of pouring himself into a bottle to alleviate his loneliness was no longer an option. Instead, he craved interaction with just about anyone who would give him the time of day.
The clock ticked until it was time to head into town to pick up Maya, he was not exactly sure if it was a good idea given the circumstances surrounding Asher and the young lady. However, she was willing to eat dinner with him and he desperately desired the companionship. Just a nice hour or two of talking and having a decent meal, it wasn’t a lot to most people. But for him, it meant a lot.
As he pulled up to the apartment complex, he parked the truck. Roman hesitated whether he should be gentlemanly and head up to her apartment to walk her down. Or just send a simple text that he was there. The man debated back and forth between the two options, before finally just pulling out his phone.
