We all know that one post that was like "Male Hobbit names are all Bongo, Chumwater, and Dingus" but something we as a fandom are forgetting is that male Hobbits will dead*ss have names like Cassowary, Morningstar, and Vladimir but call themselves Cassy, Moony, and Dim. (source: Merry's name is actually Meriadoc, Pippin's is Peregrin, and Frodo's father was named Drogo).
