Could you do writing prompts of kyo and tohru first valentine's and white day celebration after they got together??
“So,” Arisa and Saki corner Tohru in the hallway next to their classroom. “What are you getting Kyo for Valentine’s day?”
Tohru fidgets with her fingers, “well… he told me not to get him anything….”
“Why not?!” Arisa demanded to know.
“Such a fool,” Saki shakes her head. “does he not want his beloved showing her affections towards him for the entire school to see and gossip over?”
Both Tohru and Arisa deadpan at their friend for a second.
“W-Why would anyone gossip?!” Tohru stammers out.
“Geez, Saki, don’t scare her,” Arisa laughs. “You know how the chicks are at this school when it comes to the Sohma men,” she places a hand on Tohru’s shoulder, “But don’t worry about it, back to my question. Why not?!”
“Oh,” Tohru chuckles. She’d been clueless for a long-time about the Sohma fan club, but once her and Kyo had become an official couple, they’d backed off for the most part. It seemed to help that Yuki and Machi had made it clear to the fan club as well, these two Sohma men were off the eligible bachelor lists for good. “He said he doesn’t want me to waste any money on a gift.” A blush falls on Tohru’s cheeks, “that I’m already his gift.”
“Aww, who knew that guy could be so sappy and sweet! But still, it would seem weird if you don’t give him something.”
“Really?” Tohru blinks in confusion, “Is it that big of a deal?”
“You could always give him your bod…”
Arisa quickly cover’s Tohru’s ears, “Saki she’s not ready for that!”
Saki chides away. “My apologies.”
“Give him what?” Tohru questions, completely unaware of her friend’s insinuations.
“it’s nothing important yet, don’t worry.” Arisa is quick to change the subject. To her, Tohru was their innocent little bean that still needed protecting, and the girl was still too naïve to even think about other physical aspects of relationships. “I guess if he insists on no gifts, you could just make him a special lunch, maybe a treat to go with it or something.”
“I was thinking about turning our lunch break into a picnic or something,” Tohru offers. “Maybe make his favorite dish.”
“Oooh! You could set up a blanket on the roof! Away from prying eyes,” Arisa chimes in.
“That could be romantic,” Saki adds, “in an innocent way.”
“Yosh!” Tohru pumps her fists in the air, “then that is what I will do!”
On the morning of February 14th, Tohru wakes up early and creeps down into the kitchen. She knows that her cooking won’t arouse any suspicions from Kyo or any of their housemates because it was a normal routine to make breakfast or lunches for them. Her special treat was already prepared the night before after Kyo had gone to bed, so all she had left to do was make the bento lunches, pack them up along with a small blanket and a couple of drinks.
Kyo walks into the kitchen, “Good morning Tohru,” and kisses her on the forehead.
Tohru blushes, “good morning Kyo.” She loved it when he was so sweet and gentle with her, despite still getting used to the attention.
Ever since the curse had been broken, Kyo used any opportunity to be close to her. He was always one to show rather than tell how he was feeling, and it seemed being able to reach out and hold what was dearest to him, truly changed him for the better. Hugs, kisses, or simply a hand on her shoulder reassured him that it was real, that this wasn’t a dream. “Ready to head to school?”
“Mmhmm,” she picks up her lunch kit while Kyo grabs the book bag they’d started sharing.
He takes her hand and they make their way to school like any other school day, acting like nothing was wrong. Inside Kyo was a little worried. Valentine’s day was always one he dreaded because of the gift’s girls would shove into his locker or leave on his desk. This was the first time he’d ever had a girlfriend, so he prayed that the others would leave him alone now. A fleeting idea of whether or not Yuki was similarly worried crosses his mind. ‘Tch, that’s his problem.’ Not that Kyo thought that Tohru would get upset if any others did. She didn’t really let such trivial matters bother her, and that was a trait he rather loved about her. He chuckles in his head, her naivete was adorable.
The day drags on, classes more abuzz with-it being Valentine’s day and all, than focused on classwork. Even their teacher Ms. Shiraki seemed preoccupied. Those in the know knew why. She and Hatori Sohma had grown… closer since the curse had been broken. Sure, enough, when they’d arrived at school Kyo had found a couple of gifts in his locker. At least it was only a couple of anonymously wrapped little confections that he’d quickly taken and shoved into some unsuspecting male’s locker. Why not share the wealth with some unlucky guy who didn’t receive a gift. But these women, Kyo swore, some just didn’t give up! And Tohru, his ditzy little angel had simply laughed and teased how lucky she was to be his girlfriend.
“Ugh,” Kyo groans when the bell tolls, “finally it’s lunch time!” He sees Tohru pulling out her lunch bag and smiles.
“I wanna eat on the roof today,” she tells him, a faint blush again trickling onto her fair skin. “So, we have more privacy.”
He chuckles, “okay.” Kyo wasn’t sure why, but it really wasn’t a big deal to him. Frankly he preferred to get away from the other students whenever he could.
The two make their way to the staircase that leads to the roof access, with their friends Arisa and Saki giving Tohru a knowing look and wink as they walk by. Kyo ignore the pair, having given up trying to understand why they do what they do sometimes. He simply assumed that they’d helped Tohru in her decision making this day.
Tohru sets up the blanket she’d brought with her, pulling out two bento boxes, drinks, and a small paper wrapped looking gift. Kyo eyes the little package and takes a seat on the blanket with a sigh. He’d told her not to do anything special for him. It wasn’t gift wrapped per se, but it was still out of the norm of the usual lunches she would make.
Having heard the little sigh, Tohru looks up from what she was doing. “I know you told me no gifts, but…. I couldn’t help it. They said I could still do something small for you to show my affection.”
Kyo immediately assumes ‘they’ meant Arisa and Saki. “Why am I not surprised,” he runs his hand over his face. Those two loved sticking their noses into he and Tohru’s relationship.
Tohru pouts, “it’s just an extra dessert I made for our lunch…”
“Hey…” Kyo grabs her hand, kissing the back, “I’m sorry Tohru, I didn’t mean to upset you. It’s fine really. Thank you,” he kisses her again. “I just didn’t want you to fuss over me, you already do so much.”
“I know…. It’s really not a burden, I enjoy doing these little things.”
He smiles and pulls Tohru onto his lap, wraps his arms around her waist and rests his chin on her shoulder. “I don’t deserve you.”
She twists her head and places a kiss on his cheek. “Oh shush, we deserve each other.” She then picks up a bento box and places it in his hand before grabbing her own. “Itadakimasu! Now eat before the hour passes.”
Kyo chuckles, “yes ma’am!”
From the first bite, he knew Tohru had outdone herself with this lunch. Damn when had she even had the chance to make it?! It made his mouth salivate for more! The vegetables were perfectly al dente because he hated mushy carrots or shitake mushrooms. The panko crusted pork practically melted in his mouth and the sauce was not the usual Kagome brand, but a homemade recipe he’s come to love. This katsudon catered to his carnivorous side as if he was still the cat of legend. He devours the bento rice and all and washes it down with the milk tea she’d brought for them.
She just smiles and chuckles at her boyfriend’s ravenous appetite. The short work he made of the lunch was enough to tell her he was thoroughly satisfied with her efforts, but the groans of approval were definitely icing on the cake.
“Thank you,” he places a flavor-laden kiss on her lips. “That was amazing as always.”
“Please,” Tohru hands Kyo the gift confection, “Happy Valentine’s Day Kyo.”
He unwraps the little gift box to find honmei quality milk chocolates homemade by Tohru. Each heart shaped confection was white chocolate embellished with different designs from a cat to words like love or simply drizzled, and as he bites into one, finds it filled with a delicately sweet strawberry sakura filling. “This is better than any bakery!” Kyo wasn’t a big dessert eater, but she’d managed to keep the sweet level to his liking. After eating a piece and sharing one with her, Kyo rewraps the gift. “I’ll be savoring the rest,” he kisses her again. “Happy Valentine’s Day Tohru.”
“You’re welcome,” she giggles and returns his kiss.
For the rest of the lunch period, the couple sit and relax, letting their stomach settle. Kyo kept Tohru in his lap with his arms wrapped around her waist trying not to fall asleep. It was perfectly quiet and peaceful, just the warming sun and gentle whispering breeze providing them company. She’d picked the best place, at least on the campus to spend their first Valentines leaving just one new dilemma for Kyo, what was he going to do for White Day?!
