finished He Who Drowned the World by Shelly Parker-Chan ! It was sooo good, I would definitely reccommend. its a sequel, and the second in a duology, but if anything it almost manages to eclipse the first book with its intensity. literally i would start reading and not be able to put this book down, simply bc it was so thrilling. usually im a sci fi reader, but this is a rare instance of a historical fiction truly capturing me. its got political intrigue that is interesting without being overly convoluted, battle scenes/military drama that is well written and well paced, as well as characters with incredible depth and intertwining narratives between them about rebels overthrowing an empire, women and gendernonconforming people struggling to gain acceptance, and about the nature of ambition. great book!
