I’m gonna be honest as much as I want it to be Beth I really think it’s some random girl that Rick is talking about. I feel like because he was starting to see Grundy in a positive light that the possibility of him killing again is a huge blow to Rick considering what happened with his parents. Plus, I just don’t trust the CW writers especially when it comes to black female characters 😭
Why would his whole WORLD be crashing if it were just a random person? It can be random people but would Rick just absolutely break down and sob like that as Beth is nowhere near around?...Yes. I think it'll escalate like a thriller horror. The entire last 6 episodes built up to show that Beth is Rick's anchor. And now Beth is going to be targeted, that's not a coincidence. The Rick & Beth episodes are narratively entrenched in a way that shows when one pulls the other pushes. Their stories will intersect. His parents and the history with Grundy is the straw that broke the camel's back. It's like the perfect storm combination. But Beth will always be Rick's catalyst.
