Experiences with the Hellenic Gods: HERA
Friendly Reminder: They are gods, but they are very human also, so they make mistakes. They look and act like us because in that way, we can relate to them. All of this are my own experiences, so if you had something different, you are welcome to comment, still doesn’t invalidate my opinion, neither yours. This is a recent story, since actually Hera wanted to contact me recently, like 3 months ago. I was contacting in meditation with Hermes and Zeus, but behind Zeus, a beautiful woman, with blue and green tones on her dress, a precious golden crown, appeared behind him and stood at his side. She was Hera, and told me she wanted to speak to me. At first I was really scared of her, because the myths gave me a bad impression of her. I told her that I was going to speak to her later because I was tired, she knew I was lying, but she agreed while giving me a serious but at the same time sad look. So, after that, she left, Zeus told me calmly, “Try to speak to her, don’t be scared. I am sure she would like to speak to you so everything is going to be alright.” He knew I was scared to, and I felt guilty for being rude to her. That same day, at night. I decided to meditate to contact her outside, it was a clear night with a lot of stars, with no moon. I began to meditate and she appeared before me suddenly. I began by apologyzing to her. I told her I was scared of her because of the myths and told her I realized I judged her without getting to know her, and that she deserved more respect. She smiled and hugged me, and told me that she accepted my forgiveness. She told me she was happy to contact me, but even happier that I could see more in her than the fearsome Queen of the Gods. She told me basically that I could ask her for help, or even talk to her. Of course that she offered help to me, but I know that she is a goddess and deserves respect, gifts, attention and love. Last night, at the Meteor Shower, I felt her pressence, and thanked her that the sky was clear and her beautiful stars shine like her jewels at the sky. She told me that the heavens are a gift to the eye and I should enjoy the night.
So here are my thoughts on Hera and her personality. She may look serious at first, but she does it to demostrate that she is The Queen of Heavens, and as Heaven, her smile shines like the night sky. She is capable of punishment, but also forgiveness, since she is fair too. She sits at the side of Zeus, because she is equal to him, but also because she is his wife and stays by his side. Jealousy and anger are very human things, and Hera, as a loving wife, suffers and show her feelings, not because she is not able to control them, but because she likes to demonstrate that her opinion and feelings matter too. She can be quite motherly, loving children while looking elegant yet gracious. Hera is the kind of woman that looks firm on the outside, but vulnerable inside, so be nice to her, she is the QUEEN! She can make you shine like a star and help you achieve your goals, but you must be sturdy. Talk to her, even if you don’t see her or feel her at the moment, she surely is listening and soon make an appearance in your life.
