also i think that many people are unaware of the homophobia in the tech industry? i've always gotten the impression that it was a really homophobic field, whether that's true or not. it's certainly a sexist one and those things often go hand-in-hand.

like yes he lives in liberal as fuck silicon valley, but so do i, i go to an extremely liberal school, and homophobia still fucking exists. it's super brave for anybody to come out, period. it's brave for someone in an industry like his to come out. stop pretending that just because he's otherwise privileged this wasn't a big move for him.
