I’m not a BTS fan but I really liked Suga, but after this last song scandal I’ll stop listening to his solo work. He acted like a spoiled brat and his fans are the worst.
a special shoutout to the people who were with me when i was on my original dinosgf blog. i remember when i had just gotten into kpop and my url was radiating-suga of all things...i still had the default tumblr desktop theme, and my mobile theme was also the default. it took me months to hit 100, and i was so so happy!! on that blog i got to meet a lot of special people, and even tho my blog was extremely small, it meant the world to me. if you knew me back in my radiating-suga days, this goes out to u ♥️
The smoke settles to reveal MIN YOONGI, a 25 year old witch of Sunseong. He is a part-time librarian who appears to be adept in ice manipulation – but like most things in Sunseong, there seems to be more to he than meets the eye.
FACECLAIM: Min Yoongi, BTS
BIOGRAPHY:
min yoongi is born on a tuesday, and it is a blessing. perhaps not a blessing to the child himself, but most definitely one to the parents. ( if only the term “blessing” held true past five and a half years. )
he is special, that much is obvious from just about the very beginning. his parents witness the small things – those things they know to be unique to young witches. when he’s old enough to comprehend things, he learns of the term “witch” as if it was as normal as “mother” and “father”. his parents don’t seem to mind this, and so neither does he.
his first disappointment is at age five. from the moment he knew he would be a good witch – one with talent from birth – he had his eyes set on going to a special witch school. his parents inform him that this is not the case, and so min yoongi pretends to be normal with other humans in kindergarten. even the first day is disappointing; when he comes home, he asks why he cannot attend a school for those like himself, and his answer is a shrug. the boy can tell something is off, though he’s a good child that obeys his parents and so he stays silent.
( of course, yoongi decides to try learning about magic by himself. he never once tries a spell on his own, as he knows this type of thing is dangerous; however, he reads as much as he can comprehend and more. )
after approximately six months of school, yoongi hears the first slam of the front door. he looks up from his place on the couch only to see his mother holding a bottle, and he hears yelling from outside. he’s smart and so he figures out his mother is drunk (as is his father in another room, though this is simply his assumption). it worries him and so he loses sleep over it; he even falls asleep a few times in the classroom even when it isn’t quite naptime.
he slowly learns to look after himself, giving himself a first-degree burn on his finger more than once from the stove in his attempts to cook. he knows more than someone of age six should and he’s aware of this, and yet he continues to learn more – for better or for worse, who knows. he wears himself thinner than paper, stressing over a new life on top of studies on top of more studies.
by age seven he speaks as if he’s eleven, and the loss of a true childhood shows as he prefers the company of books rather than that of his parents or any other entity on the planet (besides his little brother). yoongi learns to drown out yelling with earbuds and a phone, learns how to comfort a crying child, and learns how to function without a full eight hours of sleep.
he tries lessening the amount of stress on himself and, slowly but surely, he finds a sufficient way: stop caring so much about things he cannot control. he does just that; he continues schooling and his own reading on the side, continues shielding a baby brother from drunken parents, and ceases thought processes relating to sympathy or care towards his parents. he understands that they’ve ruined their own lives. all he can do now is shape his own life past this point and give his brother as much of a comfortable life as possible.
everything falls through at some point, though. as he gets older, he realizes the opportunities he has to finally learn magic properly. in the south, he only sees drugs, but in the east? well, in the east is a school for witches. perhaps such a school will enable him to learn everything he cannot teach himself, including skills that would otherwise be impossible to attain. he knows this is what he needs as much as he knows his parents are a lost cause.
his plan never falls through, but his brother does. the cracks were always there, and yet yoongi never noticed them growing into an abyss for the boy to fall in. the boy falls when he’s eleven and yoongi sixteen. it’s only the third time his little brother has had to stay home by himself, as yoongi can’t afford to miss more school than he absolutely has to and he cannot miss just to take care of a kid with a common cold. he expects to come home to the boy in bed sneezing, and yet he finds nothing. the entire house is empty save for money left behind. no note, nothing. it doesn’t take long for him to guess everything is gone.
he misses school for a week, withdrawing from everyone and everything. he blames himself for this outcome because he truly believes it’s his fault – but then again, mostly everything does turn out to be his fault in the end. his falling grades are his own doing, his limited knowledge and control of magic is his own fault, and the loss of a family is inherently blamed upon himself as well.
and yet, he can’t live this way – not by himself in this house that reeks of alcohol and drugs, not in the house he was raised in and not in the district he’s come to despise. he uses a method well-known to him his entire life to recover: numbing. he numbs himself to the past and focuses on the future, relinquishes any hold of his drug-addict of a family. and it works.
he takes any money left and carves out his path to the east, enrolls in a witch community college at nineteen and sees it through until the end. he takes as many electives and classes as possible, takes more in the summer and reads even more on his own time at the library. it isn’t easy, but nothing in life is and he doesn’t mind the difficulty.
CHARACTERIZATION:
yoongi suffers from sleep deprivation and social anxiety; he prefers to be alone rather than in big groups of people, and he’ll gladly read a book over striking a conversation.
he dislikes alcoholics and drug-addicts, but over the years he’s developed a “do whatever the fuck you want” attitude – to an extent. he helps hunters in aequitas on the side, after all.
he doesn’t mind cold temperatures (as one may be able to guess), and his body temperature is almost always at least semi-cool.
100% of the time, he’s somewhere on the spectrum between depressed and tired.
90% of the time, he’s ready for a 24 hour sleeping period.
10% of the time, he’s tired enough that he’s actually not tired at all.
he will participate in conversations, however nine out of ten times he’d rather not be talking. this being said, yoongi isn’t rainbows and sunshine.
his kindest side comes out around children and animals, which isn’t too far-fetched considering the little brother incident and the fact that animals are, well, animals. (were-animals aren’t included in this unless they prove themselves otherwise, thank you very much.)
he enjoys his work as a librarian because it’s quiet and simple; two of his favorite things, in all honesty. he will not hesitate to pull out the big guns and say “shut the fuck up” if one is too loud.
he doesn’t eat quite as much as he should, but it’s not an eating disorder; he just forgets sometimes.
he has a wand and it’s almost always with him; in fact, it sits in plain sight on his desk at the library. it’s simply assumed to be a pen.
one of his favorite things to do is fuck around with assholes that don’t know how to treat people properly; to be exact, using his little trick of almost freezing a small portion of someone’s epidermis (or, if they’re not a complete asshole, using simple hexes just to make their day worse).
he will always have about a hundred roasts in the back of his mind ready towards each and every person over the age of sixteen that walks into the same room as him.
he tends to overthink things on a regular basis.
he likes hip-hop music and prefers texting over calling.
SPECIALTIES:
ice manipulation, rank III (80 points): yoongi specializes in the manipulation of ice, from generating it to altering its form. he’s thus qualified to teach others how to create their own ice from the atmosphere’s water as well as how to make basic, small tweaks such as forming it into a wall; of course, he can do more than he can teach. when faced with fire this technique of his is considered a bit useless as the heat melts the ice, however in normal conditions (given it isn’t a scorching 90 degrees fahrenheit outside) the ice can last a good many hours. the hardest thing he’s achieved thus far would have to be somewhat freezing one’s outer skin layer (epidermis becomes cold though the skin remains undamaged), though his favorite achievement is making small, simple ice sculptures.
