Is there any ship that you don't like (or hate?) I don't like the way the fandom romantize or make "funny" the Ramsay/Theon relationship... sometimes i think is because they are two men and all the abuse is "hot".. I mean for sure nobody ships Jeyne with Ramsay (i think) I just hate this pairing so much lol I like Theon and everytime I go to his tag I find something of this ship and it just irks me so bad.
Hi anon.
I’m not much of a shipper. I’m more like let it ship. But some ships do gross me out: DrogoxDany (she was 13 when she was forced to marry him, he raped her repeatedly, she has Stockholm Syndrome); any incest shipping that it’s not JaimexCersei (I think JaimexCersei is fine, I don’t love it or hate it, it’s just that it’s canon. They are fine, but shipping other siblings is not of my liking); and JonxDany kinda make me sick (if he’s a Targ, then she’s his aunt. I know that’s ok for Targs, but ummm).
Some others don't gross me out or bother me, it's just that I don't get it , like Sansa and pretty much everyone who she's shipped with (I'm ok with Wyllas though), and Ramsay/Theon it's also kinda weird to me (I mean he tortures the hell out of him, I just don't get how can shipping can grow from it).
And finally I only ship for funny purposes, never seriously. ;)
Thanks!
lavender-and-creme said: The only consolation I can give is that I doubt Emilia will get notable work beyond the show. I feel like by building her up and connecting her to it so much no one is ever going to get past it. Same with Peter.
Peter will work again after the show, and in between, because his career was established, though not popularly, before this show. He will not be totally famous and well received for more roles though. The new ones, will struggle. And the ones in the show for the long run, will have opportunities, but there's clearly not much that they can support their career with. No much talent, nothing majorly attractive or particular about them, so they will fade away eventually. I think they will have a career, short or long, but it's not going to be remarkable. Maybe just bad movies, or stuff like that. Not that they might care, since doing badly is paying off anyway.
There's clearly a big machine working behind some actors, and they are trying to break into the american market. For now, they might get a movie or two, but I doubt they'll establish themselves.
Alfie will work again. recognition or no recognition, I don't think he'll become a big star. He's good enough, and had some roles before this. He will not have a problem continuing work.

Agreed.
And Theon is D&D's favourite only when they have to torture him or cut his penis. They get shock value from him, and that's his selling point as a character. Yet, Cat offered the same at some point, and they did not milk that opportunity at all (though we all know they hate Cat).
ASOS Spoilers: Season 4
Hi anon.
I assume Dany's storyline will revolve around Meereen, and the siege of the city. They will probably extend it and stretch it, as much as they can, and will make stuff up to complete the story, and make her more prominent in the season. Also, I'm guessing the Jorah's kiss might be, if used at all, pushed towards the middle of the season, in order to build up the tension between the Queen and her adviser. As well as maybe making Dany's predilection for Daario, a bit more noticeable. They might play with the elements of a love triangle, even though that was not the point of the books at all.
About Sansa, I honestly have no idea how they are going to make it work with Littlefinger, and the PW. It just seems so disconnected from the plot, that I don't have a clue what they are trying to do with that story. Nevertheless, she won't be the main feature of her own scenes. We know already, they don't care much about her.
If they actually show LS, I definitely want to see how and when they make her comeback happen.
About Theon, I think they overdid it. They could have easily shortened the length and the amount of screen time his scenes got, and gotten a better impact about his suffering. It was too much at the end, and it will get to be repetitive if they keep up with the same rhythm for season 4. Also they concentrated their efforts in the shock value, instead of developing him and Ramsay as characters. It was all about "dick this, dick that", *insert dick joke here*, *insert object that looks like a dick here*, and it turned ridiculous and tryhard at times.
Thanks! Sorry for the delay.
Now that the season is all wrapped up, I'm curious how did you feel about Alfie Allen and Iwan Rheon's performances and their on-screen chemistry? I thought Iwan overdid it a couple of times but his screen presence was so engaging I didn't mind it much.
Hi anon.
I think their chemistry worked, but it wasn’t as good as I expected to be.
For me, Iwan Rheon nails one part of his character, but not the other. So, it’s really hard to fully find him convincing in his scenes. He doesn’t inspire fear, which is a requirement for the role. He gives you crazy vibes, but not scary vibes. He’s half way there, but I don’t think he’s going to be able to provide all sides of his character, just because he can’t create something he’s not. The on screen presence and the charisma needed for certain roles, it’s just there, or it is not. I agree that he over did it at times. His face expressions went from crazy eyed looking guy, to ridiculous. Like I said before, it’s really easy to fall in ridiculousness and/or a cartoonish performance when playing a bad guy, especially a crazy bad guy, and Rheon went down that path at times.
lavender-and-creme said: Well Theon straight away had no idea who they were, plus he was probably coming out of a concussion and disorientated anyway. The lighting in the scene was dim so its hard to tell, but I do believe they were dressed as Ironmen,
lavender-and-creme said: They were probably wearing the outfits of the dead Ironmen for the sake of screwing with Theon’s mind further. As far as Ramsay killing them well…he’s not a subtle person and not above screwing over people who’ve helped him.
That's what I assumed. But if they had Ironborn sigils or attire, then Theon would have not fear them, and thought some things were not right. Idk, I don't remember the Ironborn armour.
Slight query about the TV Theon story-line. Looking back, were the people originally torturing him in the first few episodes Dreadfort men? Because although their armour somewhat looked like Iron Born kit I assumed it wouldn't be them (as it would be nonsense). But in that case, if they were Dreadfort, why did they not react to Ramsay (their lord's natural born son) as he swept (common job) around them? The fact then he goes out a murders them is stupidly sadistic, I though he'd like them?
Hey anon.
I think so. I think it was better clarified when Roose explained what happened in Winterfell in episode 10. He sent Ramsay and his men to Winterfell, and the Ironborn turned against Theon to save themselves. But Ramsay “has his own ways” he said.
They were Dreadfort men, and were doing what their Lord wanted, but Ramsay was just playing, and is even willing to kill his own, in order to have some fun. I think they were playing his game, or going along with his game (with him sweeping and all), and then Ramsay changed his own game, killing them to make it more interesting for him, and more believable for Theon. So, he played everybody. And the stupidly sadistic attitudes, are not something rare to Ramsay, so.
Now that I think about it, I didn’t even realize their armors were Ironborn looking (perhaps another trick from Ramsay?). I thought I saw a Bolton sigil somewhere. Don't have the episodes here or I would check.
Sorry for the delay.
